yeah, it's always better to check with someone who was already the guinea pig whenever you buy an unproven product...i've seen horror stories of bad-fitting celica kits.

this does NOT mean it doesnt fit right..but it does mean you should take precaution.

That is why you buy authentic! ^^^^ I'd be so pissed off if that was how my kit fitted.

my replica VS kit fit almost like a glove and i only paid a $120, so i lmao at people who buy authentic J/K even if i had the money i would buy authentic because if i were to ever mess it up i'd kick myself, but much props to those that can afford it.

many replicas do fit well. most of them are heavier though because they typically use more fiberglass (which is good or bad depending on how you look at it). if you can find a replica that fits good, then give yourself a pat on the back because you just saved a ton of $$ thumbsup (on the other hand...companies that put out their authentic kits i think should make the $$ from what they make. one reason the cost of authentics are so high is because a company--like veilside--will put a lot of work, effort, and especially $$ into developing a kit..and a month after it comes out other companies just copy it and produce their replicas which keeps veilside from making $$..which means they need to raise prices. but anyway thats antother thread spineyes

and as i said earlier...many replicas do fit. but a lot obviously do not (like the pics i just posted). this goes with what i said earlier in another post about taking precaution with what you buy. find out yourself before you take a good chance of being screwed.

it means it was probably made from fiberglass weave rather than fiberglass matt (as many replicas are made of)...it can also mean it uses a higher ounce fiberglass (such as 4.7oz) but for $200, i doubt it. the weave is a little more expensive than matt..so if you're trying to cut prices thats one area you'd do it in.

Makes me think when visiting a fried at his garage a few weeks ago. The other guy ordered some replicas for his MX6. Actually side skirts fitted better on the Celica then on the MX6. eek grin

my opinion, i'll probably not buy another authentic kit.. i've gone thru two front bumpers and its too much $$ i found a replica kit to replace my old fudged kit.. got lucky damn good fitment.. i complain and i dont even have my ride lowered. expensive authentic kits weren't meant to be daily driven.. only way i reconsider is if i dedicate myself to driving less and more cautious, but that won't happen soon rice
