Would it be wise?

19's are the dimension that look BEST on the celica. I have 19's, and had 19's on my old car aswell. And both were my daily driver. So people who tell you 19's are for show cars only - that's just bullshit. You quickly learn where all potholes in the road are, and learn how & where to drive.

Some people will tell you how slow your car is going to be with 19's aswell. That's also a bunch of fucking bullshit. YES, you will notice a difference between running your stock butt-ugly 16" rims, and 19's but it's nothing major. But none the less, a bunch of people who've clearly never had 19's will gladly share their "experience" with 19 inch rims and tell you all kinds of negative crap about them.

If you can afford it, get it. When you mount them on your car, and see how fucking sweet they look, you won't regret it.

what kind of rubber you running on those rims? probably has a lot to do with ride comfortability? do you have to go with profiler 35 aspect ratio with 19's or can you go like 45 Apect ratio and how wide are your tires? deffinately want to go with something that will fill out the tires and 17 just seems too small considering it's only 1 in bigger and 18's are a good step up but if you can something bigger for a few hundred more that you'll be ten times happpier with I'd go with 19's. so you think with exhaust and intake and 19's they'd even out to about stock performance?

also how is handling with your 19's? it should be stiffer cause of stiffer lower pro tires but wouldn't the turning radius get bigger also? so might even out dunno let me know.

also does anyone know how much room exactly we have in the back of our cars? cause you don't have to worry about turning and rubbing in the back so if you got 20's in the back and dropped the back an inch I was wondering if there'd be enough room for that and 19's in the front.

I have 19s on my Celi and it is a daily driver. Had them on for about a year and a half with few problems; The fact that replacement tires are at least $160 each and the fact that not a lot of tire shops are willing or able to change tires like that size.

You'll need to hang on to the stock rims for winter use, too. Acceleration is a little slower, road noise is a lot louder, but you get used to it and they grip pretty well. I'm on a stock suspension with 215/35 tires.

You could get away with 20s in the back, but you won't be able to switch rims from front to back. If you get a flat and don't have a fifth rim in the trunk, you'll need to put the donut on the back. DO NOT pair up a 19 and a donut up front.

They get a lot of attention, but you have to pay to play.

Guess it has a lot to do with what kind of drop you have...



Mine might look bigger, but they're still "only" 19's But it looks like I've got a bigger drop.

Anyways..You have to have 35 profile tyres on 19's. Perfect would actually be 30 profile. But 35 works. 40 and up is too big.

My "set up" is 8,5x19 ET30 with 235/35 falken tyres, and a 60mm drop up front and 70 rear. Works great, looks good (well, see the picture above yourself )

Sometimes, on full lock, the tyres scrape against the plastics inside the fender (the plastic covering the torpedo/fire-wall/whatever-wall-it's-called). It's only on full lock, and only sometimes, so I havn't bothered to do anything about it. If I loosen the plastic, put some glue on the back, and press it in place, it'll be clearance enough for the tyre to never scrub. But, it's basically too much work for nothing.
