I just got my car back today. I put hotchkis springs on it and KYB AGX shocks. My rear shocks RATTLE SO BAD. The guy said front went up GREAT. But the rear just wouldnt go in without rattling. Did anyone else have this promblem? He said after they break in they might settle down and stop? Is this true? Or is there something wrong with the shocks? Any help is aprecieated. I have to run to town in my noisy rattly ass car!! Ill be back in about 20 min. Take it easy ECelica members jb

I went back and talked to him. He said that the spring is too short or the shock is to long. Said they are safe and arnt coming out but will rattle. Said it might be the wrong spring or shock for the car. Me and pop are going to pull them tomorrow evening and see what we think. Cause i have the stock shocks and springs. I did notice that the hotchkis springs are half the size of the stocks. So im going to email titanmotorsports and see what they think also. Thanks for the help guys and girls ... jb

In the netherlands with periodical tests for the car they lift the car and see if the springs hang loose when the shocks are fully extended they fail your car.
I have the AGX's too with Eibach Pro's and they fit perfect, I can imagine thought that if the springs are too short they will rattle.
What can also be a problem than is.. that the spring might turn a bit and not fall perfectly in place in the shock, creating an uneven car.. Not sure if this could happen, but in theory...

the springs aren't too small that's the point of them. You need to go kick someone's ass at your shop cause they are bs-ing you, and don't want to do the work properly.
let me get the hotchkis spring install for you...

umm. kyb agx shocks are not compatible with the hotchkis drop for the rear it drops to low for it the kyb's only hold up to 1.5 inch and that is fine for the fronts but the rear is way too low, it says that on the kyb agx warranty card that comes with the shocks

Dude, the bump stop not being there in the back is what is causing at least part of the problem. There are plenty of people on here that have used AGX shocks with Hotchkis springs btw.

yea you can still use them but u'll have to replace the rears much quicker because hotchkis drop is too low for kyb agx in the rear easier to bottem out the shock
