Well...im excited to go to the shop so my sideskirt and my body work can get done...then i pull out of the parking spot and my front end attatched to the curb and it ripped my whole bumper off...THE WHOLE FUCKING THING. So im just sittin here in some sprinkling rain..looking at my bumper on the ground attatched to the black covers, laughung. I shouldnt volunteer to get jack in the box at 1am anymore. So im glad im prepared with a 10mm socket and wrench in my car to take everything off. I did so and now my bumpers in my back seat pretty fucked up. all the holes are broken etc. the worst part is we didnt even end up getten the jack in the box/

My question-
How can i fix the bumper...the holes where the bolts go to screw it on are broken in half.-still attatched to the bumper tho.

Also-Anybody selling a silver bumper KAM(will pay 300shipped) TRD(will pay 200shipped) or regular(will pay 50shipped)

CLIFF NOTES

Crashed car on curb, bumper ripped off. Need to know if holes can be fixed.

On a good note-

Since my bumper is off i can finally replace my fog lights!!!! Ive put that off for over a year now!

Let me be the first to say...

You suck at driving goodjob...and don't think this isn't a sign that you should quit while your ahead. Next time you take a trip in the car, head down to the drugstore and purchase a package of disposable razors (not the safety kind - it'll only make things messier) Head to the bathtub or if you think you deserve it, the jacuzzi. Remember, only 14 year old girls go for the wrists. You've got at least one pulsing vein on your neck that's laughing at your misfortune...don't let it have the last laugh.

j/k bro, I can't help you with the holes but I hope it works out thumbsup

why would i even waste my time helping you, brian..you're just gonna end it in the tub (just to let you know..you do NOT deserve the jacuzzi rofl rofl)

but anyway..it's kind of hard to fix urethane (that is what your using right..since its the wings west lip on the stock front?). you can patch over it..it's just hard to make it bond strong enough so that it can support the screw mounts.

how big are the holes? anything small to wear a washer might be able to make up for it?

Caleb-
Well the Lips fine, just a little chunk missing on the side, not too noticable.

The actual bumper connections is where i may be fucked. All 5 or so connection points are broken. I think what we may do is heat them to gether and possible squeeze em back then washer them like you said. I dunno tho. I get to drive to work in 5hrs with no bumper now frown and damn im mad.

I was hoping for the jacuzzi goshhhhh cry

same thing happened to me but my bumper caught on a curb and ripped off. paid body shop 100 bucks to replace driver side wheel well liner and to fix 4 mounting points i broke the exact same pieces you broke. they can be fixed with urethane then washers for added strength

well...this is what they THINK happened. the guy i bought the engine from might not have drained it right or flushed it out with a corrosive chemical. but whatever it was (combined with how it sat out for about 3 weeks..although rapped up in plastic) it probably corroded a bearing or something else. when the mechanics hooked it up and started it..it sounded like metal rubbing on metal. so they stopped it and checked everything all over again. everything was hooked up right so they started it again. boom. head cracked, rods blown..it's totally gone. thumbsdown my first engine is actually in a lot better shape than the 'new' one.

but i can't prove anything. the guy i bought it from said all he did was drain the oil..everyone else is saying that's bs but its not like i can actually prove anything. i do know the engine was fine when i bought it though..cause i actually drove the car personally (took a trip to atlanta just to drive the car a little bit & see if it ran).

so whatever, im very disappointed and i'm not a rich guy and just saving $2,000 was a miracle in itself and now its all gone with nothing to show for it. but anyway, time to move on. gotta go get another engine now...who knows how long its gonna be before i save up enough to do that

You sure the mechanics hooked it up properly? I've heard that when you're installing a new engine you need to disconnect the fuel lines and crank the starter for about 20 seconds to get all the oil, coolant, etc. into the engine before you actually turn it on. If they just plugged it all in, put in the liquids and started it up straight away, it could cause damage.

it could have been, i really don't know. thanks for the info..i'll ask. in any case though the guy that did it has been a certified mechanic for probably 20 or whatever years and has done literally over a hundred drop-ins.

besides that...its part of my gf's fam. it's just gonna start a whole bunch of drama trying to place blame on everyone. just a sucky situation. but hey..maybe God was just trying to keep me from killing myself or something. never know
