would you guys recommend taking these to a shop or is it pretty simple to do on your own?

Supah easy. Just take your time and make sure to keep the overlay as flat as possible across it's entire surface when you put the plastic trim back over top of it...this way there won't be any air bubbles.

ye they light up. jsut used a fuse tap to my tailights and come on whenever lights come on. They jsut slip over ur needles. But one thing your going to encounter is your needle sis goign to stick proba aroudn 1k and 7k. becasue they are 3d. To fix this you are oging to have to take your needle off and put it back on but dont push it donw all the way.

Is there anyway to take off the stock gauges or do you have to lay them over top?

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE OFF YOUR NEEDLE TO MAKE IT NOT HIT
simply push the 3d part on the correct way and it'll clear, they didn't design them so they would hit the needle and make you take off the needle. i know because TimO's did not hit.

So all i did was to warm it up and genly bend it. Worked just fine. Just need to draw the power to it now.

BTW. It is not the S7 gauges fault that the needle hit. Space between the plate and the needle is NOT the same thrugh the 1000 - 8000 RPM range. Like I said above everything was fine till 4000 then the needle started dropping towards the S7 plate and just stuck at 5500. On a friends car it stuck right at 1500 but moved just fine above 2000.

what wire hooks the lights up when using autolamps, i know the lt green is parking lights, which will work with a relay hooked onto a 12v source, but what if you want them to come on automatically like the stock gauges?

i taped it to the tailights fuse. cames on when lights come on. Dont be afraid josh to get them They work great. Mine actually sticks when i turn the car on at 1st, but then after a bit it stops sticking onthe botton. For the top i out a little wad of paper between palstic and gauge and it hold it down fine. When i take off the gage to change needle leds then i will jsut not pusht hte needle sback on all the way.

I have the 3d s7 gauges, and they are fine...mine don't stick...what I would recommend is putting the overlay and 3d pieces in between a really thick book, or under a few magazines for a couple of days before you install them...it will help flatten th gauge overlay and the cardboard out...the install guide that comes with it says to flatten them out before the install anyway...and yes it is really straight forward, and yes, the install guide here on the site really really helps
