if you're worried about it you could hit up the junkyard and pick up an extra cam gear. thats one of the harder arts to do since most people dont have an air compressor. then you simply swap in/out the whole thing when it comes time for the smog check.

you still need to run air through it and tape up the holes then twist the vvt actuator to make sure it has the 30 degree range of motion needed mike.

How did yours blow in the redline. These engines can handle plenty of beating. The stock head has been known good up to 8600 RPM atleast...Im baffled? misshift maybe?

isn't the reason we have a rev limiter at redline etc to keep your engine from damage?

I rev to 8600 for the last 40K miles lol basically the entire life of my engine lol and I know I beat the crap outa my car. granted I take good care of it but still. I don't see how just that would blow your motor so fast.

basically there's no way this things getting installed without some new parts made. so until he finds a place to make this for him, these cams are now DOA cry

all I can say is I gave it a shot and it didnt happen. better luck next time I guess.

^^ they arent. the headers wont be out anytime in the near future.

part of the plan was to make enough money from the cam project to get the header made. and since the cam project is on an indefinitely holding pattern the header will be on the same path.

he gotta get all the old issues wrapped up before things will get better.

So basically these cams are so aggressive that new shims that are huge have to be made for this to work. So is TPR going to make another cam that wont be so hard to make work?
