If you can, get the engine code so we can diagnose that. As far as losing lift while it's on, that's probably because, depending on the code, your car can go into an emergincy state, (or something like that) where it will cut some power to prevent damage.

Look under the TSBs for the GTs. . . "Check Engine Light"
It says something to the effect of a bad ECM or the fuel injectors and to replace with updated parts.

Since the engine has been 'worked over' it could be possible that the O2 sensor is going south, or the catalytic converter. 1st option would be the EFI, though.

lol well almost close took it to toyota and had them pull the codes ( my dealership up here will do it for free smile but there were 2 codes on it one was the o2 sensor but that was easy it had some oil on it from when the were putting the new engine in but the second was what was causing the problems it was the knock sensor and they tried to tell me it would be 410.00 bucks to get it fixed on an engine with 1100 miles i was like bs and told the service guy were to go i went straight to the warrenty writer in the building and told him what was up and he said the it would be no problem to get it fixed under warrenty i was like yeah right on so know we are just waiting for the part to come in...speaking of that the sensor only had 32k miles on it is it posible that something in the engine isnt alligned right and set it off because i reset my ecu and it came back on was just wondering about that
