Well guys my brother as a 2000 celica, Now the problem he doesn't want it no more. and he wants to get rid of it. Now he can't give it back because is under my dads name so he doesn't want to messed up my dads credict. And also he can't sell it because he owns still too much like $14000, so i know no body is gonna give himm the $14G's. So my first opinion was to burn that car.and let the insurance pay it off, and try to sell all the parts like rims, seat, well everything. So he can get some money out ot it. So my question is. What would you guys do? I know a lot of people have done i, to claim their insurance, So now how risk it is, and how much money can he get. Well peeps all the opinions r very welcome. Thanks again...

Are you seriously asking about commiting insurance fraud? Way to be an ass

In parkour, no one is afraid. One is just...apprehensive.

Just to let you know, if you burn your car and make a fake insurance claim, they will investigate you for a while. They will send a spy to spy on you from a day to day basis and they will check around for things such as seats and rims as you stated. They will know how it caught on fire also. I think your just putting yourself more into trouble. Just stay away from frauds.

i have a question that kinda has to do with this. my car caught on fire a week ago from the electrical system shorting out... and after they got the fire out n everything, i took the seats out because they were like 200 bucks each... you think thas was a very wise decision? they asked me about it, and i told em i took em out because i didnt want em stolen or anything.

posting about it was the dumbest move. if i were going to seek advice about a crime i would only council myself or with someone i could trust. then see all angles then do it. you sound like an novice so commiting insurance fraud is way over your head just find a legal way to go about it. don't be stupid.

This is why you should never let a car loan become "upside down" (you owe more than the car is worth). If I were you, I'd just let your brother worry about it. He's the one that no longer wants the car; he just needs to learn that one can't just always get what one wants. His best hope is to try to get someone to take over payments, but that seems like a long shot. Most likely his best course of action is to just keep the car, at least until the loan is "rightside up."

I can't seriously believe he (or you) are contemplating burning the car. Getting caught and going to prison will have lifetime consequences, well beyond the X years of jail time if he/you gets caught. Also beware that if he decides to do something like that, and you have knowledge of it, and fail to take action to prevent it, you could be in trouble too. Something like that could well be the biggest mistake he or you ever makes. Live and learn.

tell your bro to stop being a bitch. get off his ass and find a job and pay the money he owes. Keep the celica because he has no other option. Life is a bitch. This kid can't get everything he wants. And committing a crime is the last thing he should do. As for you..lol. Your his effin brother. Why would you let him do this? I guess you guys are really close huh? Celica is a nice reliable car. just keep it till he makes more than 8/hr being a janitor.

i dont think i was harsh at all. Just reality. Why buy something if you can't afford it? Oh well, do what you want. Its up to you. And you will go to jail for it.

Insurance will only pay what the car is worth, not what is owed. It would really suck to have no car and still owe payments. cry

why doesn't he want it anymore? because it's too expensive??

i think trading it in is his best option... he may lose a little money but that happens sometimes... you just kind of have to deal with it...

personally i buy wrecked cars.. but that's only cause my dad owns a shop and they fix them for next to nothing for me... and then dad sells them to me for what he spent (no profit) i bought a dakota from him... drove it for 2 1/2 years and then sold it for $1000 less than what i paid for it... in my mind... wrecked is the way to go (as long as they aren't THAT wrecked)

That's cool. Hey, its easy to think up stuff like this; acting on it is totally another thing. Hey, no offense taken. I couldn't tell if you were serious, or just joking. There's plenty enough jokes going around.
