went from injen shortram to race division CAI results: can definately feel more kick to it, especially at 4k and above i can hear the intake now, could not before and best of all, lift is seriously 10x louder, i thought my car was exploding. i love it btw - i used my shortram's red hoses since injen doesn't package red anymore with their intakes, they come black and i didn't want that.

what else would i get? i don't want to wait for TPR and i like injen on a gts the injen CAI has been known to bog down low and and actually lose horse power from stock below 4K...at least an aem makes a bit more down low...if you go on injen's site even their dyno shows loss of power in low and mid range...import tuner's dyno shows the same loss as well...

I have the Injen RD CAI and I witness no bogging. As far as losing HP?!?! naw, after putting on my CAI I instantly felt the difference. Either way CT, AEM and Injen are qaulity products and cannot go wrong. BTW nice setup on your CAI man, looks sweet!

Nope honestly I have never seen TPR's dyno to a CAI because I havent seen no one post it?? Yeah but isnt the point if having the INJEN CAI for getting more top end power?? Thats what LIFT is for? Why not get more power out of it when lift hits?

Where the injen loses low end power it makes up for it in top end power. Assuming you have a stick, the injen would be better for racing and the aem better for daily driving. Its really just preference.

as far as TPR...i think easyC can take it from here. but as far as injen making more up top. it makes 1-2whp more up top over a range of 500 rpm..lame.. and will everyone be driving around at lift all the time?..no...so the daily driving excuse is moot.

it flash floods like crazy here (new orleans is below sea level)...it's against my better judgement to put a cold-air on my car. i just got my injen shortram in yesterday though...not as much power as a cold-air but it's the safer alternative for dealing with where i live

The dyno on n e w c e l i c a . o r g comparing injen/aem/tpr shows injen beating aem but quite a bit in the top end and ct's didnt. Dynos suck 1. in a perfect world, you shouldn't even compare dynos done at differnt times MUCH LESS done by different cars under different conditions--even when using the same engine type. even when using a stock car with no aftermarket parts, dynos will vary because there are so many variables..weather, temperature, wind, much less talking about how 'healthy' the engine itself is (whose to say my 2zz runs the same as your 2zz??). also take into account different dynonameters measure whp differently. there are 3 major dynonameters that tuners use (dynojet is the most popular for imports..but mustang dyno--not related to fords -- is probably the most realistic. so you can imagine the different results done by cars with different aftermarket parts on different dynonameters will show. in a perfect world, all engines would be made the same, maintaned the same, tested the same and under the same conditions--then you would have a true look into what really does what. 2. it's obviously not a perfect world. so you obviously shouldn't compare different dyno graphs. you're best bet is to compare the DIFFERENCES in ONE particular dyno. look at what the gain (or loss) is between a performance part and its corresponding stock part. 3. don't ever use a manufacturer's dyno...use a trusted independent dyno.

The dyno on n e w c e l i c a . o r g comparing injen/aem/tpr shows injen beating aem but quite a bit in the top end and ct's didnt. Dynos suck dynos differ...the CONSISTENCY i wanted to show was that every dyno (even INJEN's official dyno) showed a loss of power down low... dynos done properly don't suck and are far better measures than "oooh this FEELS faster"...or "Hey! i got the newest G-tech!"...

Had the shop i was using actually been a shop and did what they were supposed to I wouldnt have that problem. But your post just adds evidence to my case. Im also claiming loss of business from them. thanks

g-tech meter. it's a plug-n-play device that you type in a few variables (such as your cars weight, with you in it) and then take it out for a test run. it then spits out dynos, track times, etc. supposedly it's accurate...but it depends on how accurate your input is as well.
