I am fully aware that they make paint/dye in spray paint cans that can be applied to soft plastics (like on dashboards and door panels). But putting aside these sprays for the moment-- Is there anything that can be applied to soft plastic that will "seal" it (and even harden it) so it can be spray painted with regular acrylic spray paints? Go out to Sherwin williams or if you want..go to an automotive store. Krylon sells spray paint that is specifically made for plastics. This product works very well. Never used it in my car. But i have used it on other stuff and it turned out great.

I did my whole interior with Krylon Fusion, its paint made for rubber and plastic type stuff that bonds with the surface for a more permanent finish. Looks great and lasts long if you take care of it

you could always just go and buy some resin & resin harder and apply a layer of it across the areas surface, then sand till smooth, and maybe use some body filler. that will hole paint, its just like fiberglass...

That's more like what I was thinking...some kind of epoxy spray. Do you have more information regarding the kind of stuff you are talking about? And brand names? Is it available at auto body shop supply stores? Can you give more detail? Thanks dude Ned
