I'm sure everyone knows that the center console of the JP Celica kicks ass over the shitty controls we were given in the US.

Anyone know how hard it would be to do a swap? Is it more than just buying the console parts - like do you have to change any A/C parts, too?

you're looking at anywhere from 1000-1300 to get all the parts necessary to do this conversion. thumbsup

Again..thats sweets, but in reality you need the electronic control unit, the new electronic clutch for the system and some other parts. But it definitly makes it hott as far as looks and overall ease of use

I remember seeing that in like 2000 or 2001 in Europen Car magazine. Even the Celica color looked darker (they had a silver like Celica for test shots and runs up against a Mitsu, you all know the one GTO, and Vauxhall who knows the model). I was jealous after I saw 190, the picts of the interior, and the darker color paint scheme (maybe the camera).
I was disappointed that the Celica finished 2nd behind the Vauxhall, but ahead of the Mitsu.

The word is a lot of work and money. Maybe $1,000 to $2000. I don't see a lot of work or money for people going show on this.
I would think this to be the best thing going.

Ok Guys, Im am getting rid of that bit out of my car and ill sell it to whoever wants it. It consists of the sterio unit (6cd front loading, md front loading), the screen, the controls in front of the screen ( in japanese ) the gps unit ( for the boot), the sat nav dvd and the surround for it all. I think i still have the loom as well.

It looks cool, im doing a different project for my car at the mo. Ill ship the lot to the us for $400. Can post pics if needed.

From what I gathered, you'd have to pretty much rewire the entire front half of your car. That's A LOT of wires to deal with. Good luck...
