I don't even have a celica yet but am looking around for one (Not allot of options in Hawaii, their all fricken GT's.

I am researching what I want to do with it. I got every thing in mind at what I want except the body. I have used the search option and have bin reading posts about it for the last 3 hours or so and still not quite getting what I am looking for so I figured I would post.

Allot of poeople were saying it has to be molded on. From the looks of it most of the panels could just replace the OEM parts but I do see some of the panels that could not be bolted on. I am wondering what people mean by molded on and what you would use to do it. I do allot of fibergass work and just wondering how hard it would be to do myself to save some money. My other worry is, there is not allot of body shops around here in Hawaii and I am sure none that have done work on cars like these before.

Allot of people are saying about $10,000 for every thing but I was hoping to do all the work my self and just wondering if its fesible to do myself.

I don't know what but I can afford allot of other cars out there that look cool and are probably faster but the celica is the only thing that calls out to me right now. I don't really like any of the other body kits for one they are too plane and two there are tons of celicas out here with the norm and I don't like to be part of the norm.

Anyways any help would be cool or you can just feel free to flame away at me it you like.

oh and also the price would be close to that to have it done perfect, including the rims paint and all othher mods you will have to do with it. But if you got the money and time, go for it. thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup

Im in Kona on the big island.

Yeah thats what I figured for the price. I would be doing all new rims, struts, springs, and all anyways so whats another $6000 to get a body kit, have it fitted and painted.

I was just wondering if it would be possible to do it my self. Or if it would be cheaper to fit the parts of the body kit that don't need to be molded myself then have a body shop do the molding on the rest of it?

Actually, the Apr kit isnt molded. Everything is bolt on. APR actually advises not to mold the kit. There was a thread about this somewhere on here a few days ago. However, the quarter panels have to be cut somewhat. Maybe you could do a search to find that other thread!!

My car might be slow, but at least it looks nice!

yea, its suppose to be bolted on, but i guess you could mold it after that to make it flow, but JUST molding and hitting a bump would completely fudge it up

Hmm Yea looking at the picture again it does only look bolted as you can see the lines where it attaches so in other words it would be fesible to do my self then. My bro can paint cars too so I can probably shave $3000 or so off of the price.

Hmm guess its not enough that I search through useless crap for 3 hours is it celicatalbot Hehe just jerking your chain around a litte...
