can a car be lowered without a spring compressor, and air tools, all i have are basic hand tools and breaker bars. I want this done because its my day off, What should i do, i cant find anyone to do it, and if I do they want 200-250 bucks to install these.

yes, my tanabe df210s did not need a strut compressor. just needed a sawzall to cut the old struts out of the back b/c the top nut rusted shut.

I highly recommend not cutting the spring.

But to answer your question, yes, it can be done. It will be a pain in the ass and take a while, but it can be accomplished.

it can be done. my suspension was installed without a compressor. i had air tools tho. air tools arent needed but it makes the process goes much faster.

dont cutt your springs! thats old school and my dad told me him and his friends used to do that before hydraulics came out

Yeah, that's the nice thing about independant suspension. You just have to unbolt everything and lower it all down. No need to compress the springs. Just put the car on jack stands. Place the jack under the desired spring/strut and jack it up a little...NOT off the stands, just enough to compress the spring pressure a little. Then unbolt the top of the strut and simple and slowly lower the jack and down comes all the goods. The rear nut on top of the strut is a b*tch b/c of it's location...but no air tools needed.good luck

go and rent a set of strut compressors from autozone for $45 and they will give you your cash back when you bring them back

yes it can, but go with the spring compressors. I made a video of what happens when you dont use them when we were doing it on my old Integra

^^^ this could be needed somewhere more important, maybe save a life. i actually paid someone to have it done, who did use a compressor, but did not have to take the wheels off. Sounds wierd, but left the wheels on when he took everything apart
