buy it only if you wanna use it for a short while. they are gonna give boggings, and lots of CEL. just buy it for the noise if you wanna use it for a month or two.

no no...the no name ebay intakes are just AEM gen 1 knock offs. Basically you have a 50/50 chance of bogging or throwing a CEL. If you don't do either of those, you have just saved a lot of money and have a great intake. I say if its like $50-$60 go for it. They will last longer than month or two

I got mine off somewhere close to eBay, 60$ shipped for CAI, fit perfectly, no CEL ever.. no noticable bogging. Great sound and looks good enough. So really you can get screwed or get a good one, all depends on your luck

Big name intake companies like Injen and AEM are more expensive then ebay ones for a reason...quality, durability, and proven gains without bogging or CEL's...i wouldnt gamble f*cking up my engine with a cheap ebay brand just to save a few bucks. I say this with experience, my buddy with a mustang bout a ebay brand one and the piping did not even fit his throttle body, parts were missing, and the bend of the piping was impossible to fit under the hood...

I say this with experience, my buddy with a mustang bout a ebay brand one and the piping did not even fit his throttle body, parts were missing, and the bend of the piping was impossible to fit under the hood... uh...are you kidding...Injen bogs, AEM gives CELs...so they do have flaws...our engines are weird like i said...get the intake...take the chance

ebay works for me..no cel no probs...going on 3 months..so i beat the 2 month spread...guess you guys who say off brand intakes are wrong...all intakes have the chance to bog or cause cels like someone else stated above...i have had neither... not everyone has bad experiences with off brand products..mine works great

The only prob I had with mine was fitment. The bracket that supports it going down the fenderwell was off. They had to bend it a bit to get it in. Then it keep popping off. I think I had mine for like 5 mo...

well the biggest reason for the expensive price on the aem and injen is due to the r & d part of the situation, ebay sells replicas of these with no r & d therefore giving you a cheaper price, but its a metal pipe and not really hard to mess up so i would get one if i wasnt going turbo soon...
respect the gt-s

here's the deal dude. Unless it's TPR, you have a 50/50 shot (maybe more, or less) on any intake. Forget intakes like "Weapon R" cause that'll give you a CEL or bog for sure. Injen - bad bad low end power. Worse than stock airbox.. however, has good high end. Bogs like shit, and CEL sometimes. AEM- CEL more often than INJEN, however, makes more power low end wise and all over. TPR- no bog or CEL. Correctly Designed, and beat AEM and INJEN on all RPM. especially midrange? Ebay intake- depends on which one you get. If you get the AEM replica (Gen1) then there is ABSOLUTELY no difference between that and a real AEM. A real AEM intake is a tube, a filter, and a hole for the MAF. It doesnt even have MAF fins. Ebay intake is a tube with the exact same diameter, filter which is a replica of the AEM, and a hole for the MAF (also without MAF fins). Because both dont have MAF fins, you can cause a CEL or not. It depends on your car. So my suggestion is, why waste 200 bucks on AEM when youre really taking a risk on whether you bog or CEL. Get a AEM replica ebay intake for 50 shipped. My intake- ebay AEM gen1 Replica. No one has found out that it's an ebay intake yet. LOL after all, all that's different about an AEM real and replica is that the real one comes with a license plate, instructions and manual. I dont think those 3 things are worth +$150. Plus i can always slap on a sticker. LOL you wouldn't know that an ebay replica wasn't an AEM if you bought it from a private person. Well, i have it on and it's loud, especially in lift. NO BOGGING and NO CEL. I had a CEL 2 days after the install but that was cause i never resetted the ECU. Reset, and it's gone. Running perfect. TPR if you have the money. Ebay> AEM injen OH yeah, watch out for one thing when you buy an ebay intake though. The couplers. The box had 2.5" couplers and the piping was 2.75". IT was impossible to put on. I found out after having taken apart my car... but yeah you can always buy 2.75" couplers (if they send you the wrong one) at an autostore for about 10-15 bucks. Or the real AEM one for 20.

tpr intake is actually really cheap it's 200shipped for a CAI when a CAi is usually like 250 plus shipping. the site tuningprecisionracing.com says 4-6 weeks to get an intake. I think that's kinda long but I emailed him and he said in a few months they will probably have intakes and stuff made and ready to ship so you could get them in only a few weeks soon.

i was jsut goign to say that. What you need ot do is search on ecelica for ebay intake and see a bilion threads of peoples opinions. If you dont wanna spend the money, get an ebay oen and do the bluebomber mod. If oyu dont knwow aht that is go to newcelicaDOTorg and in their installs is the "perfect CAI" or somehtuing liek that it will tell you everyhting you need to know.

The Ebay intake come with real cheap taiwanese air filters. Most of them have fallen apart and becomed unglued under the intense heat under the hood. I wouldn't risk it.

I wouldn't risk it. i have an ebay intake filter for 2years now..no problem at all..if you worry about it then just put out an extra $25buck and get an APC filter at pepboyz or autozone..or put out $50 and get K&N filter and slap it on ur intake..all in all u'll be saving $100..ebay intake for 50+50 for k&n filter..

not sure but I think someone said that when it throws the cel it's because it's running to lean and then it goes into safe mode and runs extra rich which I think can hurt your performance.

^ hehe.. well i think the ebay filter is just fine. the ebay filter and something like an Apexi filter isn't gonna give much of a difference in performance.
"does it matter if your CEL is on? it's only a light? or does your car lose hp? I know it's like that in mr2's... and what is bogging?" -pegasus
When you have a CEL that means that the car detected that something's "wrong". Again, because there's no MAF fins directing the airflow to the MAF, the MAF might read it as a problem, hence the car will start running lean BECAUSE of the CEL. If the Cel doesn't make the car run lean, it would be running too rich which is bad too. Running lean isn't good for the car if it's for long periods of time, like months. However, i risked the ebay CAI and it worked. when i bought it, i expected it to bog or CEL but it surprised me. At least with the ebay intake, you're down 50 bucks, not 250 for the AEM... which is the exact same thing. Oh yeah, bogging is when you're car doesn't respond to the gas. You step on the gas but nothing happens for a second or two. That's because of the misread airflow crap.
Rico, PM Easy C... he makes TPR intake/exhausts. OR go to tuningprecisionracing.com
