Just installed a K&N Typhoon [ knfilters.com] cold air intake today on my 2000 Celica GT. This was my first mod (aside from the S2000 antenna and fill-in decals, but those don't really count). A friend helped me, and it took us a couple of hours, but it really wasn't hard at all. It could have been done quicker, but we were very methodical in following K&N's very thorough, step-by-step instructions. Of all the instructions I've seen, K&N's is by far the most detailed and complete, which is part of why I bought a K&N instead of an AEM. The kit is very complete with all the necessary hardware and mounting places for all the stock sensors and tubes that are needed. At idle the sound isn't much different, but acceleration between 4K-6K RPMs produces a much deeper, louder sound that before. Kind of hard to say what kind of power gain it provides, but so far I'm pretty happy. I bought it brand-new off eBay from Koller Dodge [ kollerdodgeparts.com] for $125 plus $20 shipping. That's less than half the retail price and less than anything I've seen for AEM or Injen.

Is that a cold air intake? 1-3 hp seems rather low for a cold-air. I would think 6-8. It definately looks tight though good buy!

Looking good man!
Can you scan the manual please? Could you make a scan of the manual? Just curious how much better the K&N manual is than the AEM manual

Those are some excellent instructions. Very clear and detailed. I just picked up an RVM intake from e-bay and it was a disaster. It was missing hardware and the instructions were so bad you could not tell what tubes were going where.
