NSX Type-R is the fastest Japanese stock car. 0-60mph. Less than 4.9 sec, 1/4 mile less than 12.99 sec. I saw both test on Japanese motor video

Toyota GT-One. Technically it is a production car because it was able to compete at Le Mans.

KARacing is right, its the NSX Type-R. I think there was two of them, one with the popup headlights and the 2nd with the new projector normal headlights. Here's a cool vid of the latest one: http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/General/modelinfo/nsxr.mov

Yes, the new projector headlights model is faster than the old one (about 0.3 sec). I wish Toyota Supra Turbo was the fastest one (I have one), but it is not

Technically I wouldn't consider the Skyline, Supra, STi, or Evo a super car, they are more like sports car like they way mustangs and camaros are just regular muscle cars in the USA. IMO super cars are cars like Porsches and Ferraris, though sometimes the performance of regular sports cars can match those of the super cars they are no where near in price range or sophistication, which just shows you how good Japanese cars are. The NSX and Nismo cars are more into the super car class the previous mentioned vehicles and so I would agree that the NSX takes the trophy for best factory super car. Even though technically the GT-One and R390 are production super cars, we all know that they JUST made enough(like 50) just so that they could race the car, not for serious consumer comsuption.

Supercars is a term that the U.S./World market came up with to describe all the highpowered cars from Japan that came out in the 90s.

Actually, I believe there was only 1 production model of the GT-One, and they never sold it, they just kept it.

IMO, supercars are cars that are sofa king fast, not sofa king expensive. if the NSX Type-R can outperform most euro-exotics, that is a super car. stock for stock, that is.

I say NSX-R...All EVO's, STi's, R-34's, Supra's shouldn't be considered "Supercars." IMO. To me a supercar is a car that you dont see every freaking day or are sold in large quantaties. I see EVO's everyday (stock and not stock). I see STi's a lot but less than the EVO's. R-34 doesn't count since its not sold in the states but if ranked with the Z and G i see those every freaking day!!! (Too Many!!). Supra's i see less than all the other cars i named but i see them most days of the week. The NSX...only one here in my city...i see it maybe 1-2 times a month...and thats because my family knows the owner of it Also my uncle has previously owend a Supra Turbo...then moved on to an NSX...then traded his old NSX for a newer one (not shure wat year but it wasnt like the new ones now). A couple years after he traded in his NSX for an SL500...to this day he tells me the same words..."I Regret Getting the SL...itsss soooo slow compared to my NSX" He is already planning on getting rid of his SL and doesn't know wat import to get...he likes the new NSX's but he has enough dough to get a Ferrari so i think he's amming at that P.S. the NSX's he had hauled a$$$$$$$...much faster than his Supra and SL

The FQ400 is anything but mass produced, they are only going to make one hundred of them. If you see ONE FQ400 in your entire life I would be extremely impressed and jealous.

Even just an EVO is rare. I never see EVO's where i live. I have seen one EVO and one STi. The STi was in a parking lot and the EVO came up behind me on the highway and i was thinking about giving it a run just for the hell of it. But figured it would be a waste of gas..lol. I would have to go with the FQ400 on this one. The GT one does not count. that looks like an F1 car.

^^and why can't it count? those pictures are of the production model, albeit they only made one, it still fits into the supercar range (over $100,000 and near or over 500hp)

I think for it to count there has to be atleast 50 of them made. Nobody probably even bought it. They probably kept it for themselves.

hey, Le Mans rules say that any competing car must be based off a production model car. Toyota bent the rules, therefore it counts as a production car, therefore it wins. nowhere in the rules does it say the car had to have ever been sold.

not so, they don't make a street legal production NASCAR car. that GT-One is 100% street legal.

I'm not really impressed with that Evo. There's an Evo in florence that runs the quarter inbetween 11.2-11.4. That was a year ago, he might've broken the 11 sec barrier.
