Well i was riding on Route 4 the other day...minding my own business. When all of a sudden traffic in front of me comes to an abrupt stop. So i slam on the brakes and come to a complete stop about 1/2 a car length from the car in front of me...not skidding at all. Then i look in my mirror...bad news. The 20 year old in a mercedes behind me does not see the traffic is stopped...and is going about 40 MPH when he does notice (which is just about the same point my bumper becomes attatched to his).
Needless to say the celi has seen much better days. Good news is they decided not to total it. Damage came to around $5400. And the guy at the shop promises my car to be done by next wed. (the 16th) So soon i will be re-introduced to my celi.
Of course i miss all the beautiful days i could have had my sunroof open and windows down for.

Yea at least it will get fixed. I hurt my back a little but the doc says its only muscle spasms...and that it will go away shortly. So nobody really got injured. That's all thats important.

dang! that happend to my friends dad except when he got hit from behind the impact was so hard it snapped the bolts holding his seat down so he flew back to the back of the car attached to his seat kinda. He was able to walk away from that one with no injuries. He was driving a Mecury sable.
Its good nobody got hurt.
cant say ive done that before... ahh crap

Yow, sad to see that. Lucky the frame didn't get bent (looks like it wasn't, anyway), or it would be totaled for sure. Glad you weren't hurt. Here's to getting the Celi back soon.

yea i have the GTS badge on it...some ricer must have owned it before me (I got it used) So it came with that badge on it. It's definately got the GT motor and tranny though. But the price i paid was reasonable for even a GT, so i'm not complaining. I was planning on trying to save for a turbo...and then changing the badge to a GT-T. But im not so sure i will do that, so i may change it back to GT like it should be.

Don't let them try to put non-Toyota parts on the car. You are entitled to OEM parts, not knockoffs! At least you'll probably bet getting some type of settlement for this. You can use that to mod the car. That's what I did when I was in your shoes. Good luck to you!!

after looking at the pics again, I say sue the bitch. How could she not see the RED lights and cars braking. (Although I did it myself with my mom's old landcruiser, but hey, I was 17).

im from Midland Park, its part of Bergen County right next to Ridgewood. They promised me next week, on the 16th, (which is like 2 and a half weeks after they took it). The guy i brought it to is a very honest guy, he has done great work for us before on my dad's camaro. In the past he has given it back on the promised date...so we'll see. I just can't wait to get my baby back. For now im driving my mom's car, which is one of those new Scion TCs, so its not too bad. But im not really a fan of the scion. It is an auto, so i already hated it, and it seems ten times slower than my celica. The ride also seems a lot rougher, which made no sense to me since i have strut bar and stuff done...and the celica is already rigid. At least she is nice enough to let me borrow her car for a few weeks.
