When you fill your gas tank? Do you run it all the way to empty before?

it means you need to run 91 octane. LOL it's cause the GTS is a high compression car. The higher the octane, the better and cleaner it combusts... which later prevents harm to engine like carbon build ups and such. 91 is the lowest you can go.. be happy cause in CALIFORNIA... 91 is the highest you can get and it costs like $2.50/gal!

My celica did the same thing. So I brought it to the dealership and they had to tighten the throttle cable and it fixed the problem.

also, the celica-manual suggests 91 octane for the GTS. if you go lower than that you're engine will slowly die. you'll hear knock and other mechanical sounds which means death will surely come. frown

yea i use 91 all the time and no i dont wait until its empty. I'll probably tighten my throttle cable and see what happens. its not $2.50 a gallon. its like $2.25 around there. freakin been going up these few weeks. It was like 2.09 2 or 3 weeks ago.

mine did this for some time, i had the dealer plug it in and it was throwing a code of some sort that had to do with some kind of pressure or something. He shut the code off, or reset something and had no problem ever since, i know what you are talking about though. Mine at times would kill the engine after i started it, people at the gas station must have thought i was a hardcore ricer revving after every fill up. Also dont keep pumping fuel in after the automatic shut off stops pumping. quit filling as soon as it stops even if its like $22.99

mine started to do that a month after getting my intake. I would get CEL and it told me that I had missfires. The shop I took it to told me that coil packs were not firing probably from being dirty. I started using 93 octane gas from shell with that fuel additive that cleans. you guys know what I'm talking bout. anyway after about a month I reset the computer to see if it would misfire again and it hasent yet, that was about 6 month ago.
