I will be getting my 2001 GTS soon and I will have around 3k to play with and I was wondering what I could put in it that would give it the most increases in 0-60/quarter mile time. And I dont want NOS. Thanks

aside from good driving skills, you can go with:
upgraded clutch, lightweight flywheel, lsd, aem cai, trd exhaust, trial header, smaller/lightweight wheels, modified engine mount, weight reduced car. that should eat up the 3k you have.

Weight reduction like taking out your back seats and practice driving... I am sure that you would improve your 1/4 time a bit. And it doesn't cost a dime. smile

I will vouch for that. I have reduced my eta time from low 16s-15.9s to a 15.6. Get in your practice.
Then all the mods th guys above listed./ Get some good sticky tires, intake, exhaust, header, pullies, flywheel, clutch, LSD. That will be your 3K. Have fun my friend.

With Intake, Header, Exhaust, Clutch, Flywheel, Pullies, some nice tires, you should be able to get low 14s for sure if you can drive. Go ahead and throw a short shifter in there.

with the turbo added (not to mention another $4,500) you should run low 13's and maybe even mid 12's...assuming your spooled up. (too bad you can't twin turbo inline-4's cry) but turbos are spooling a whole lot faster these days. thumbsup

mid 12's would be great, although it doesnt sound flashy. but consider this..to run a 7 second quarter mile it would take you a celica + $100,000. not so bad when you look at it that way...matt scranton is the man.

12s with a Turbo? I don't know about that. You should be able to hit 13s, but thats if you can drive, you may have some serious traction problems, so good tires and an LSD plus clutch.

whats the hp gain on TOM'S Light Weight Flywheel? What other products besides intake, pulley, header and exhaust can kick up hp a lil?

not 12s with just a turbo...scroll up a little and you'll see a post in which i listed about 3k worth of parts NOT including a turbo. he had asked about these parts PLUS the turbo..which you just might be able to run mid 12's with. thumbsup

again just the list of parts worth almost 3k NOT including the turbo. add the turbo (but you would have to minus the injen cai obviously) and you should get very decent timeslips
