will 225-50-16 fit on the optional 16's for the gts

it should.. if 245/35/18's will fit on a celica or even 215/35/19's then 225/50/16's should have no problem fitting on a celica. it will be taller than stock though so will hurt your accelleration, but increase your top speed.

well i meant the rims i know they will fit in to the celica i jsut don't want to be too wide for the rim

yea i would be 3% taller then stock so instead of reading 60 at 60mph i will see 62

if i know they wil fit ill drop it toa 225-45-16 which will be a hair smaller

yea it will fit i have 225/50/16 ecstas 712 on my 16's gts rims

I got 225/50/16 Potenzas on my car. Most 225 size tire just require atleast a 6.5" rim width, so they fit on stock 16" GTS rims. It'd be harder to find a lower profile tire for the stock rims though, from what I saw anything lower then 50 series require a minimum 7" rim width. So unless you got aftermarket rims I think 225/50 are probably the widest you can go, but if you find any lower profile 225s, post if because I couldn't find any.

I put 225/45/16 on my GTS with the stock rims.
