Hey, I had just baught the Inifinity reference 6000cs component speakers. I was thinking of taking them to a shop to get them in but I'm interested in doing itmyself. they consist of the speaker, tweeter and amp for each door. here are the specs, can you guys tell me what I would have to do etc? Thanks

Type: 6.5" 2-way component system
Speaker Impedance: 4 Ohms
Power Handling: 90W RMS, 270W Peak
Frequency response: 53 Hz - 21KHz
Sensitivity: 92 dB
Crossover Freq: 3.5KHz
Mount depth: Woofer: 2-1/16"

Also I was planning to use the amps that are provided and run my subs and rear speakers on my existing amp, which they currently are now

are you sure those are amps and not crossovers that came with the speakers? I haven't heard of the infinity components coming with amps before.

The boxes are not amps but crossovers, they provide the correct frequecies to the tweeter and mid. Shouldn't be hard to install but if you thought they were amps, I might take them to the local audio shop to get them installed.

ah, I meant crossovers. I believe there should be a master wire that spilts off to the otehr wires for the speakers, should I just attach the master wire to the crossover and then attach the speakers to the crossover?

thanks man, why did your tweeters last long? so I should just go from the amp to the crossover to the speakers. What if I reduced the output level on the tweeter?

I have a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS. I installed them today, what I did was take wires from the amp w/ 18 gauge wire to the crossover, then I went to 18 gauge wire to the tweeter w/ the "-3dB" option (i've heard these tweeters don't last long) Then I used 16 gauge wire for the speaker. Does that sound ok? Is there anything else I could do to improve this?
