yeah i was just wondering what everyone's got against civics... you guys act like they're the rival high school or something... is it because there are so many of them around? because i bet celicas would be the same way if they were more affordable... or is it because you don't like the looks?? i've never quite understood... i don't think the newer ones are bad looking cars... and a lot of people say hondas have good engines... so i was just wondering what the problem is

First offf...i personally don't have anything against civics...BUT:

I think most of it is because Civics are about the cheapest import car you can buy...and theres seemingly billions around. So the people who are like "wanna be" import tuner type guys who are on a really tight budget buy them because they can get a modified civic for less than any other car. they'll spend a grand on a civic and spend like $10 on a shit intake, $15 on a 5" fart can, $100 on a POS fiberglass body kit and slap on bondo because it doesnt fit...

It's just the most commonly poorly modded car...and you see way more that are extremely over riced or done really poorly because they are so cheap...that's most of the reason why people hate them...

BUT there are loads of parts out there for them...so someone with 20 grand to spend on a car can have a really killer civic. I've seen some fully built with turbo with 500whp...and no one can hate on that...

some turn out nice. i thinkits becasue people who put a body kit on ther and think they can take on any car. I have to say there are some pretty kick as civics though. it all depends ont he person more then the car iteself. but then again this goes for any car. You can have a gt auto put a kit on it and think you can take on any car too. There jsut happens to be liek a million cheap modded civics to every 1 cheap modded celica

so basically it's more about the people that BUY the civics than it is about the car... it's just easier to stereotype all civic owners into one big group by hatin on the car

We usually just pick on the people who rice them out, not the cars themselves

lol i guess so. personally i like the well modded civic. for me it has to be 2 door. Some poepl are jsut very judgemental. Its just like the ricer haters. People who onyl get domestic cars and belive all imports are crap rice cars. Nt to hate on mustang drivers but they seem to be the worst. My sister is a mustang driver and she thinks imports are crap. Now i love all cars, i woudlnt mind a new msutang, but seeing how hers (02) is built it seems to be lesser quality then the celica. Just has a bigger engine. Oh well, whatever floats their boat.

civics are the easiest car to be modified and cheapest. U can find so much more for the civics than celicas. like my car, its the next civic. Can't we all juss get along?

lol yea scions are the next civics. there are so many now. i personally think they look better off the bat then civics though

I agree with everyone, its nothing about the civic itself, its just people who buy shit parts and think they can take on any car.

I like Civics, especially the 2006 Civic Si Concept. I was gonna get a Civic instead of a Celica.

well i have a few civics here where i live, and i do have something against them, the 3 or 4 civics that are hear are completely stock with a few sticker maching stichers on them like "no fear" and dumb stuff like that, and they pull up to me all the time to race and think there all bad because there car was in fast and furious and they think they acutally have something, when its just cheap stock junk. It just bothers me because they dont know shit about modding or anything and slap some dumb stickers on and think there in the Fast and Furious, im sure there are others like that to with different cars but there fucking idiots!!!!!!!

^^ so again.. it's not the car.. it's the people that own the cars and do stupid things to them..

About 85% of the all ricers have a some type of small honda.

because hondas are proven to be better than toyotas..so all of us celica owners are jealous

thats moer of a reason because they have SOOO much stuff out there for them. the parts are cheaper, the car is cheaper, so the drivers are younger and are less experienced with cars.

while it is true that there is more rice in civics than celicas..its also true that there is more style in civics than celicas as well. when you are as big a group as them...you get more of everything--the good, the bad, and the inbetween.

Honda>Toyota.

Its like every honda that is bought about 3/4 of them are riced out. You definitly see more riced out hondas vs. stock hondas. I personally dont like them because they are Very slow. Ive seen a few quick ones, but none of them have amazed me.

lets just say 60 percent of the pplz who drive this cars are spanish guys that watched fast and the furious and wanna be like hector and his friends. thats all there is to it. im spanish my self but i would never slap on a sticker or think im faster then a skyline, its just stupid wen they think because they have a body kit and a fart can, they can take on any car. but wat i do like the most is wen they try to race, i dont even have to hit lift to beat them

yeah again it's nothing about the car itself...i mean...it's no performance machine...but then again neither are the celica's really. They're built to last and get good gas mileage...it's just the drivers that have the personalities that have been previously described

its not even so much about people buying parts for the cars its that people that dont know a thing about cars, much less imports buy them and think that their 115 horsepower is a lot and will take on anything...they dont need the mods, they just think of the civic bc everyone and their mom has one...and most of them look like shit

they are cheap, I bet you 1 million dollars that a brand new civic WILL break down in about 5-6 years, or atleast have to get engine work done. MOST ppl like to rice them out, they have the roll call, the park bench wing, the clears, and the trash can exhaust., they just look ugly. Yet they are very economical, thats the only advantage towards this car. The celica owns the civic any day! . also most ppl are jealous of all the after market support that it recieves, I really dont think the civic is worth it

i hate hondas period. they can all goto hell for i care. i will never buy a honda/acura for me or my kids. idk just a personal grudge againts them all. but on the contrary i might see one nicely moddend like once a month. but they can still all go to hell.

LOL alittle hostile. I like acuras but theri dealership sucks. If it wasnt for the smug delaers there i woudl be driving an 04 black rsx type s right now. They ordered me one from another dealer and we couldnt pick it up in time (which was a week after they said they woudl have it. And then they were saying how we have to come get it now becsaue its first come 1st serve. My dad is not a paitent man and doenst like getting pushed around, so he said F them. We went to toyota and got my gts that night Was 3grand more but man i love it

Acura people are jsut very snobbish. They think there cars are the almighty. Never very welcoming at the dealership.

But then on the otherhand the dleaer at toyota kept trying to sell me a used suv and couldnt understand i wanted a small sports car Dealerships are fun arnt they.

People just dont like them because the majority are just ricers.

Honda's are still better when it comes to price/performance ratio.
Reliability wise they are the same. The comment said earlier about Civics breaking down withing 5-6 years is stupid. You really think a Celica could outlast it with stupid things like lift bolts breaking all the time?

I wouldn't mind owning an S2K either, at least Honda still currently produces sports cars in the US.

i have a grudge against hondas because my sister has one... lots of repairs and stuff as soon as she hit 100k miles... maybe my sister wasnt driving well or sumtin but from all the civic owners i kno, nobody likes it because they have nothing on the hills.

Yea i think its all the peopel who drive them let alone the car themselves. Idk y and im not tyin to be steryotypical here but, most riced out civics are owned by Asains or Spanish with ghetto black people ricing out the hatchbacks.

btw , Are hondas really better than toyotas. i think japenese cars are the best made cars in the world but whose the best out of them?

Man ur really getting up in arms about all this. I just meant that the one i went to was very snobbish every time we went there. just the last time was the final straw for my dad. I have yet to go to anoyher acura dealership, but it hasnt discouraged me from going there in the future. As for acura drivers, just the ones i know and have met are pretty snobbish but i still love the rsx type s.

U cant generalize these things and you have to take what people say with a grain of salt (which i dont understand the meaning of ) I didnt mean to get you all upset about it, i was just saying what happened to me. lol all indians i knew drove 90's lexus's, or is it lexi There were allot of indians in my school and for the most part they were all rather wealthy and drove soem nice stuff. As for the not so weathly i dont know.

idk wat indians drives. acuttly come to think of it i dont often see indians driving to begin with. usual just indian women whose husbands are doctors or soemthing liek that , so they be driving acura suvs liek the mdx or other luxuary suvs.

well good lord... 100,000 miles?!?! i'd like to see ANY car that doesn't start having problems with that many miles on it...

i have a friend with a civic and her car gets up and down hills fine... and we live in a freakin valley where there are steep hills EVERYWHERE
