BEFORE I GET FLAMED, IM LOKOING INTO BUILDING A CUSTOM DEL SOL. NOTTT A RICED OUT CIVIC. IM TALKING ENGINE WORK FIRST AND THEN SOME NICE LOOKS. ONLY THING IS, IM AWARE THAT WITH ENOUGH MONEY THAT CAR CAN BE VERY QUICK(REGARDLESS OF YOU HONDA HATERS-I HATE HONDAS TOO, BUT FOR A SIDE PROJECT I WOULD LIKE TO BE ONE OF THE FEW WHO BUILT A CLEAN FAST HONDA..SO TRY TO PUT ASIDE ALL THE RICE ROCKET CRAP THAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR MIND..BECAUSE I KNOW.ITS HARD TO RESPECT ANYYY HONDA WITH THE CRAP PEOPLE DO TO THEM)..BUT N E WAYZ. I THINK THE DEL SOL IS FUGLY, BUT WITH THE RIGHT PARTS, I THINK I CAN MAKE IT CLEAN AND NICE. ONLY THING IS, I CANT FIND ANY GOOD PICS OF MODDED DEL SOLS.
IF YOU FIND ANY PICS, TRY TO POST THEM UP.
IM THINKING -
CUSTOM PEARL WHITE PAINT JOB WHITE 18" RIMS STREET FIGHTER KIT PISTON SPRINGS (LIKE AIRBAGS, BUT THEY DONT POP) TURBO RED BUCKET SEATS CUSTOM INTERIOR (NICE AUDIO/VIDEO SETUP)
THATS FOR STARTERS (LOOKS WISE) IN MY HEAD, IT LOOKS NICE - BUT EVERY PIC I SEE OF A DEL SOL HOOKED UP LOOKS LIKE SHIT.
IF THE DEL SOL DOESNT WORK OUT, IM GOING TO DO A WIDEBODY MR2, BUT SINCE I HAVE SOMEONE OFFERING A GOOD CONDITION DEL SOL FOR CHEAP, IM THINKING ABOUT IT.
SO LIKE I SAID, GO EASY ON THE HONDA BASHING. I JUST WANT TO SEE SOME NICE DEL SOL PICS (IF ANY)
had a budy who got into modifying a del sol, or as i like to call em del slo :-D j/k awesome car but i cant figure out why i was beating a supercharged del sol...i think he had a b16a motor, probably the SC wasnt working properly.
yeah, the b16 us a great engine to work on. Alot of flexibility. but looks wise its ehhh. my best bet is a widebody mr2 - custom paint - turbo - rx7 headlights. wiht a few thousand, that car can look like a true exotic ride. but im still curious to see what a nicely modded del sol looks like...anybody have any pics???
The Del Sol isn't a bad platform but the reason many people don't use the Del Sol is because it's a very heavy car for its size. Since it's a targa top their is a lot of reinforcement done to the chasis which makes about as heavy if not heavier then the civic coupe, thats why many people rather swap the Del Sol B16 into the Civic hatch.
