MWR does NOT "make" valves and springs. they simply retail them. Pioneer makes the springs. eibach also makes springs for the celica along with crower who does GT only for now. they dont expect to start on the 2zz til the later part of this year. I have been very impressed with what I've seen from the ones mwr sells. I would reccomend it. I also have a set they just arent in yet.

I have never once seen somebody post on here that there valves floated. I think people are are being led to belive that the stock valve springs are not suitable for the celica gts. Besides stonger springs mean more friction and the valvetrain acounts for almost 35% of the engine drag. I think i will still use my stock springs. while driving back roads I run my engine in lift for up to 10 mins at a time. If the engine breaks i will just fix it, till then the stock springs will work fine.

you run the risk of valve float if you raise the limiter.
not to mention the mwr valves are lighter then stock which helps a bit as well.

you know you can change the springs with out taking the head off, just get a air compressor and presurise the combustion chaber and the valve will be held in place while you put you springs in.

Ask yourself one question. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

yeah, well i'm having a friend that works for japan direct build the engine and install the turbo kit. they specialize in turbo import motors, so i'm guessing he'll do a good job, i'm not going to spare any expense on it though, i'd rather pay more and have it take longer but last than have it break a week later.

he must be important if he works for japan.
just be careful you dont get ripped off due to lack of first hand knowledge.
there are reputible shops in the US that are reputible and have done work with the celicas. I dont see the need to get the motor done in japan. but hey, it's your money so whatever makes you happy is the way you should go.

it's being done here in nc, he works for a company that imports jdm parts here locally in nc called japan direct. i've known the guy for about four years, he's always taken care of me and my family's cars, and always has done a great job on my celica. he's worked on a lot of the boosted motors that they get from japan, so i'm trusting him to tell me what parts i need for the rebuild to make this a safe daily driver.

There was a guy on "that other site" that raised his rev limiter all the way to 9000. He said that you'd get valve float at 9200. I'm too tired to go look for the post though.
