well if its wired then your going to have to undo all the wiring and reconnect whatever was cut and spliced. then you can just pull the wires through the center console.

fly me out to HI and i'll help rofl

https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/thread.f_57263_0_collapsed_2__1.html Use this to figure out which wires to take out and make sure you reattach the one that is spliced. Your connections should be visable as soon as you take off the PCM cover in the engine bay. I like my SAFC just for looks but if you want to take it out it is not that difficult. thumbsup

if your going to keep the safc there is a quick disconnect that way you don't have to pull out the wires! mine ended up on the inside of the car near the fire wall, just trace the wires. If your keeping it just disconnect that and save yourself time. The car won't start until it is reconnected though.

Yeah just behind the foot pedals. just follow the wires from the side of the safc. After a foot or two of wire the disconnect should be there. lift tab to separate the wires. Make sure you disconnect the negative terminal of the battery before unplugging it just to be safe. I always do when working around the PCM(ECU).

That whole console pulls out after a few screws are remove from the A/C control. It's totally safe. I suggest you just pull the center console and follow the SAFC Wire to the connector since your painting the console anyway. Tell you what. Tomarrow morning I'll take some pics and run you through it! It's so simple I don't mind. thumbsup

The SAFC lets you make changes air fuel ratio and view data such as: RPM, Throttle Position, Air flow, and a few others I can't remember off hand. This is cool because not only can you increase performance but you can also use it as a digital gauge and see how much better your car performs after mods. It can display this info in 3 ways, graphs, gauges, or numbers. Unfortunately the Celica has Adaptive Learning Fuel Logic and will eventually counter any changes made to the Air/Fuel ratio after about 10 drive cycles or more (about a week for me). Anyway it still works really well as a digital gauge, a way to measure mod performance, and looks really cool at night! Also if I want my modification to the Air/Fuel ratio to take effect I simply reset the celicas ECU and the car runs faster for a week (good for drag strips). Hope this helps? You can try Apexi's web site for more info. It really is a good product but unfortunately doesn't work quite right for our car.

It is probably tucked under the carpet of the divers side pannel because there is usually excess wiring. Untuck it and follow the line towards the gas pedal.

I know your s-afc runs from the flip-up compartment but the wire has to go down toward the same place.

I know you said that your wires go behind the dash but I would bet that they just fall down to that rubber hole. The disconnect has gotta be before that rubber hole and probably tucked underneeth the side carpet. I hope I helped out or at least painted a picture of what you should look for. thumbsup
