Not nessisarily. It depends where you live if you get a ticket for radar detectors. In NM, you can have them. But seeing that you're from texas, I don't know if they're legal there. I think they are illegal there. (I'm saying this because I got a ticket in texas 2 weeks ago, and on the ticket it had a check box for having a radar detector.) I'd talk to someone who knows before putting one in.

Thats very true. I wish I had one. Then I wouldn't be paying $287 for going 103 in a 70. I-40 is too flat and too boring to be going 70.

Detectors r legal in cali, mounted anywhere... I got pulled over for a out headlight and he stared right at it and did nothing... I did my research too... as for mounting like that, it looks custom, try here http://www.ram-mount.com/ramcat.htm

In the U.S. at least they are LEGAL everywhere else. If they put radar detector on your ticket, it SHOULD NOT affect the fine, only how lenient the judge is willing to be if you fight the ticket. If it does affect the fine, fight that shit!!

I think he just wired it to the dome light. I'm going to do that to mine. If youget stopped & they say "Oh, I see you have a radar detector" just say "actually it's an a$$hole detector"
