I recently purchased a 2003 Celica GT and will be running it in G/Stock autoX this year. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on preparing the car for Stock class autoX. thanks

You have one point in stock class, so you can't remove interior panels or add any suspension. You can do r compound tires on a light wheel if you want... a 205/50/15 or a 225/50/15 will work fine. You are aloud to remove the spare tire, rear hatch cover, floor mats( you will have to do that anyway), check out the rules for you club... check out the SCCA website for Solo2 rules!

Yeah, check the rulebook, and pretty much do anything you can within the rules. I'm not sure but I think they allow I/E in the stock class. It won't help your handling at all, but a little extra power never hurt.

Things to bring: Window Paint (you'll have to paint your racing number on the windows for the track officials), helmet (although they'll have some there, it's nice to have your own), food, water, money, foldable chair (nice to setup and just watch). You'll want to race on a half-tank of gas. If you go with less than that, it has a tendancy to slosh around when going into turns or slaloms. Put chalk on the walls of your wheels. After a run, look to see how much chalk has rubbed off, adjust air pressure accordingly. Don't take turns herky jerky, smooth is better. Before anything starts, walk the track. After that, walk the track backwards. Then when you're done with that, you might want to walk the track. ![grin grin](https://celicahobby.com/forums/images/graemlins/celica/grin.gif) I'll post up some of the general rules for stock class below. If you have any questions about rules or regulations, you can PM me, I've got a rulebook for Solo II and I'm pretty experienced. Authorized Modifications to Stock Cars 1. Accessories, gauges, indicators, lights and other appearance, comfort and convenience mods which have no effect on performance and/or handling and do not materially reduce the weight of the car are permitted. This does not allow driver's seat substitutions, or the removal of "tow hooks". Hood straps may be added. Any fuel tank cap may be used. Alternative steering wheels are allowed, provided the outside diameter is not changed by more than one inch from the standard size. Roll cages may be added (it's actually incouraged). Anything that is not held in place by factory fasteners (or anything loose in the car for that matter) must be removed. Aftermarket rims are allowed as long as they're the same size as stock (kind of, they only have to be pretty close to the same diameter). Front sway bars can be removed or replaced. Rear sway bars cannot. All of the rest of the suspension must be stock and cannot be modified. The air filter can be changed or replaced, but the housing cannot be replaced (meaning no CAI, SRI, or anything of the sort). Exhausts can be added after the cat. And that's it! Have fun, lemme know if you need any help.

Dude just go as you are and run it like you got it and get a helmet.

Thank you Merlin! There's so little info about autocrossing on this site, despite the car we drive...
