For those of you who are proficient with sound system set ups can you please help me... The other day as i was putting my subwoofer back in my trunk i forgot that I left my stereo on. As i was plugging in the wires into the sub and as soon as it touched the metal there was a spark and the subwoofer hasnt worked since then. I replaced the fuse that goes from the battery terminal to the amp and it didnt change a thing and last night i tried hooking up the sub again and it made that spark again and there was a thump sound from the subwoofer. I dont know what the problem could be so people who know what im talking about please help!!

Hook up the connection from the amp to another speakers so you can see if it is the amp or the speaker. I think maybe the sub is blown.

Alot of amps have fuses right on them. Check the amp again but I really think you should say bye bye to the sub. If the sub is in a box, take it out & take a good look at it. Check the 2 metal wires on the bottom sides.

Make sure the amp isn't on. I mean make sure it's not on all the time, b/c there should be no power going to the amp if your radio is off. Lastly, leave the fuse out, connect the sub, then install the fuse, that way you know there is no possible way there is power going to the amp. Subs are pretty tough, I doubt that little did anything, if anything, I would think it would mess up the amp. But try what I said above first.

make shure that the power isnt touching the ground it could just that...then check to see if the amp is getting power ...there should be a light or led or something showing that the amp is on ...those 2 wires should be the case if it still doesnt work chek fuses from amp check grounding then check the remote wire = blue wire

check your fuse on the amp... I have 4 of them on my amp.. they usally stick out are around a 30amp... it sounds like a blow fuse if not you blew your amp, did you smell plastic burning when you touched the wires because if you did thats your voice coils in the subs going bye bye, other wise you need a new amp

I'd check the fuses on the amp if there are any and check connections...if it turns out the amp is blown, you can usually return it to the manufacturer and they'll replace it/fix it at no charge...my friend just gave me a bad Kenwood amp, stopped working after 5 months and I called them and they had me send it in to them and they're sending a replacement.

Good luck, keep us updated!
