I'm working on an X-Box(Free) that I moded. I put a smartxx chip($60) in it and will run it as a PC/XBox so I can run all my games mp3's DVDs and gps($80) I will swap the hard drive for a 110GB($50). I'm putting it in the back in the tray. Also i'm only using 2 wireless controles($50) so i can use 2 USB ports for the other 2 ports. that will run my wireless internet 802.11G($20), keyboard/mouse($30) & gps antenna. (110 inverter $40)
My biggest problem is finding a svga the right price and size!!!
I have $330 tied up in this project so far, and I am trying to find a monitor for under $180
I'm making an aluminum rack with rubber shock mounts behind the back seats (my gts is rough)

Its been a while since Ive played with my modded box but im pretty sure youll have to run a dual boot system using linux for your wireless if its off usb. I dont think avalaunch or evolution x supports usb.

I already did the chip mod. I just need to load a new opperating system on it. http://www.smartxx.com/manuals/pics/smartxx_quickinstall_16_v2.jpgThere is a ton of stuff that can be done with this mod My biggest delima is swaping the video to a SVGA so I can have a touch screen monitor in the dash. I think there is a high Definition cable for the video. I hope the resolution comes out ok. It makes me mad to see a 18" LCD monitor for $250 then my only option for the 7" is the same price! I'm tempted to say the heck with it and put in a palm pilot docking station instead!
