Hey guys,
I posted about this before and no luck, but it is starting to bother me now.
When I am driving over 40mph, I get this loud howling/whistling noise. It is constant, sounds like wind noise, but damn, my 2000 GT does not make this noise even if I take it to 80mph. Anyone know what it is? Tires? Hood?
The car seems to run fine, no bogging, no stalling. It just howls like a mofo. Sometimes it gets pretty damn loud and it hurts my ear.

Me and my girl have notice that the sound is coming from EVERYWHERE. She sat in the passenger seat most of the time and she hears it there, I hear it on my drivers side, and when she sat in the backseat she can hear it there also. It is like a loud humming.wind type noise. Can tires create this type of noise? I doubt that it is the engine because underneath the humming type noise, I can hear my engine accel. and deccel.

DO you need new tires? My tires were loud when the tread got real low. I got new tires no more noise. Hope that helps.

howling means you have an air leak somewhere in the rubber around the windows, check em all out, try going on a straight road, and run your hands along the rubber seals, feel for any air coming through. I doubt the windshield has an air leak, thats more of an American car problem.

I noticed you have an amp. If you run the speaker wires & the power lines through the same side you may get some noise or flutter. Can even sound like a "howl". You sure that's not it?

You sure that's not it? yeah check that, all your door and window seals, and check your belts... happened with my camry once... when i was younger we had a noise like yours and my dad didnt pay any attention to it till the timining belt slipped off and snaped..

Bringing this thread back. Not the belt because I got mine replaced with the Serpentine belt and the noise is exactly the same, no diff. at all. Any other belts to check out?
Not the tires because the sound is consistent even when I hit a pothole or something. There is no hesitation in the howling at say 60mph and I hit a little pothole. You can hear the car make the noise but the howling is consistent.
Regarding the cables running to the Amp, how do I solve this? Have not check it yet because I wouldn't know what to do if this was the case.
