OK since there's a thread about compliments, thought I'd throw this one up

For me, some stupid guy at a stereo shop said my Celica looks like a white tennis shoe! Then he tried to get my number! I said, "You're gonna make fun of my car then ask for my number? How stupid do you think I am!"

A remark from a coworker afterwork (he drives an ugly green V6 made to look V8 mustang)
"Hey, you ain't got nothing on this, american muscle." and revs his engine and peels out of the parking lot. I harass his ass down the road until we finally get a red light and then he revs on me. We take off, I win and the next day at work the guy doesn't even look at me, its so funny. Actions are louder then words.

i always get stares from people with shitty cars...

i don't go out that often to get criticism from car enthusiasts..but i do get questions like "is that a v6?...turboed? rwd? duz it hit 160mph? gt or gts? what's vvti? is that a honda?" oh yeah and one from this auto gts tellin me to "drop that vvti man"..that kinda hurt comin from another 7th gen.

Some stupid shit at my work said my GTS is a piece of shit - after the fact I pwned his blazer countless times. I might have to deck the little asshole now for talking trash and being plain stupid.

got a by a guy driving an ugly ass lowrider i looked at him and just laughed. And then a cop pulled me over and tried to be all big shit, he looked at my car and said "what the hell is this" (i used to have a an eyebrow that said CELICA back in the day) i pointed at it and said cant you read, he didnt like that.

I mostly get that its a girls car and a few times I have had my car called a "slowica" too...people around here mostly drive cavaliers and n/a 4-cyl eclipses though so they are just jealous

I drove to my local liquor store one day years ago (2000 or 2001) and to my surprise there was a showing of souped up modded old Chevys and Fords. Probably about 25 cars total that looked amazing.
The old domestics from the forties, fifties to early sixties.
Honestly, I felt intimidated even parking next to one of those cars. I went into the store got a pack of smokes and a 6 of Hop Devil and went out to my car where a group of 5 or so people were looking at my car.
They all loved it, until the moment when they asked "what's under the hood?"
I told them a 1.8 liter 4 banger pretty much stock.
I could see it in their eyes the disappointment, yet they stayed to ask even more questions.
I left there with great pride.
Even till this day people see the 7th gen Celica and know it's special and underrated as some of them learn the hard way.

i hate it when people call my car a ricer. i hear it mostly from people who think the only way a car can be fast is if it comes from the factory like that.

Most of the time everyone wows and does a double take when looking at it, idk why, but so far no rude comments yet.

nobody in my town likes celicas cz theyre mostly honda freaks. i get a lot of weird and mean bad stares from others around and i drive normal. noone really talked crap about my car cz my friends only know i drive a celica, whoever asks me wut i drive i just say toyota. but ya, i get a lot of bad stares and believe it or not i never look around when im stopped in other ppls car unless i spot a chick. i just prefer not looking around cz i notice sometimes a hondas around or other racers that i can tell that once i look at them they will think ill be racing them

My friends harrased me about me driving a "Girl car" for a long time...then I turbo charged it.. and they all shut up.

I live in AL so I see "America Muscle" all the time. They used to F" with me all the time, but now the tables have turned, I F" with them. Its always great to have some guy in a mustang GT roll past me with a smug look on his face and try to pull on me from a 20~30 Mph roll. EVERY time, they get a nose on me, I down shift get even with them, Blow off in their face, and smoke their ass.

I've never had rude remarks about my car since ive owned it. However in high school people always called them smellica's but those people were the hicks who only bought american just because.
Its kinda hard to poke at the GTS, its not the fastest car but it looks awesome.

I got a dirty look from some guy in a trans am in my parking garage...i gave him a dirty look back because he was right in the middle of the aisle instead of moving over to give me some space (he just stopped too). Guess that says something about his driving skill...

I had a friend with a '94 Integra LS who bagged on my car all the time (girl's car, slow, etc.) but every time I challenged him to a race he shut up. He's wisened up now though...

Very few people actually insult my celica, so I guess I'm lucky (or I'm too stock lol).
