I hope I'm not alone here, but I hate all the crap you can buy that looks like carbon fibre, but isn't actually carbon fiber, or, maybe the stuff is sort of carbon fibre, but its just for show. Allow me to give a few examples
Carbon fiber hood scoop The hood scoop is purely cosmetic, you don't need a bigger one, nor do you need it to look like carbon fiber. It won't make your car faster - sorry.
Carbon fiber dash Totally impractical... even ferrari's and lambo's that have actual carbon fiber interiors don't show it off much. The glare would make driving your car during the day suck.
Carbon Fiber stick on shit its stick on shit, it looks like carbon fiber, it isn't carbon fiber, you're car isn't any better because of it.quit pretending. This is just 1 step away from putting on Type-R badges
You may think "but I like the way Carbon Fiber looks" and thats fair. I think I'd look better with a 14 inch cock, but I don't stuff my pants...

You're in for it. A lot of things that don't make the car any better are still very desirable for the sake of being more unique. Granted the attempt to become unique is just joining the thousands that already have that mod (not in all cases, but most) but I think it's the different combinations of mods that people are looking for. I'm all for carbon fiber and am in love with it, but there is such a thing as going to far. But hey, people can do whatever they want and as long as they don't destroy the car... go for it! Carbon Fiber all the way. Cargo Carrier = probably not making the car much faster... but that's pretty damn sweet imho.

i think its known to show off carbon fiber on import cars, not exotic. bit carbon fiber looks fine, but you shouldnt do it. few parts of the dash carbon fiber would be cool, but not all of it. plus if you have Carbon Fiber it has to blend in with the rest of the car and not stand out. i dont know why i bought my Carbon Fiber dash stick on, but 50$ wasnt much and i tried it and it doesnt look too bad.

TBH i bought the carbon fiber vent stick ons. like you said its just a sticker. but so what so is the celica dragon i put on my dash as well. I think they both make it look a lot better. Also turns out the same day I bought my cele we got a new manager who had the same car same color and all. just a few things diff like hers has the sun roof deflector and rear window wiper. But neways I want mine to look much diff as hers but still look good as poss. So far i got racing pedals, blue LEDs, s2000 ant, celica dash sticker , carbon fiber vent sticker, clear corners, viper remote start alarm. And when summer roles around in a couple of months im grabing an AEM intake and still deciding on exhuast. O ya dont forget rims..
but neways. I get your point on Carbon Fiber stuff. And I agree too much is a bad thing exp if it doesnt match your car. But some ppl get it just for looks or personalization.

BRING ON THE HATE-FILLED REPLY'S!!! Can I take you literally on that? j/k I agree that fake Carbon Fiber look horrible, I wouldn't want that stuff anywhere near my car... I have a Carbon Fiber dash kit. I was looking to paint my dash or get some overlays for it, then I found Iggy's group buy with a really good price and decided it would be nice. I've only gotten compliments for it, it's not overdone and flows pretty well. It also doesn't glare much more than the stock dash does, or than a painted one would. In case you didn't know our hood scoop is not just cosmetic...it actually forces air down onto the header, where it's needed most. In theory a larger scoop would bring in more air, and thus more cooling...though we are talking about a few drops in the ocean though (what's the exhaust temperature at the header? 300-400 degrees?). If you've got a Carbon Fiber hood (and that does make a big difference) then a Carbon Fiber hoodscoop would only make it right...kinda weird having a Carbon Fiber hood and stock hoodscoop. Also remember that it's not always the specific mod that counts...it's the attitude that comes with it. If I add some carbon fiber sticker on my car and drive like it's the fastest thing on earth...I see your point...but if I put something on and I know how little it does for me performance wise but I like it anyway...then it's not so bad.

Yes I agree Carbon Fiber are just more on the show. But isn't that what the 7th gen Celica is all about? STYLE? That's why a lot of people buy mostly cosmetic parts with their Celica. But I agree having too much takes away the idea of style. I haven't yet seen an all out Carbon Fiber Celica. Can't wait to see that happen

hmmm, i thought you were going to critique the application of carbon fiber with fiberglass reinforcement. i don't know. some people like to paint their interior to specific colors, change the fabric/material, or strip it all out for weight savings. we all have different tastes. guess we all know your taste isn't carbon fiber.

Actually isn't the hood scoop used to help cool the engine, since there is like no room between the exhaust manifold and the firewall. It can also be used for better air induction for turbo applications since the intake is practically shoved in a place with no room and only hot air.
I'm with you on the Carbon fiber imitation but if I could afford to basically carbon fiber everything I wanted, I would, even if it may not look all that good, it would save a lot of weight.

lol, we cant bash on the guy for having an opinion. Sure its the wrong one but hey its a free world I found it easier to get the checkerboard carbon fiber for all my interrior parts (i like things to match) so i have the faux c/f for intside parts, then have real c/f for outside parts With the exception of the little celica inlays on the hatch, i dont plan on putting the vinyl stuff outside. hell as long as you like ur car, your paint, and or your carobn fiber, f*** everyone else

Especially here in AZ! I would be blinded LOL. I have already said that this isn't a problem... It doesn't reflect much more than the stock dash, and whatever is reflected gets scattered due to the curvature, so it's not too bright. I get more problems from the glare coming from the top of my gauge cluster because it's flat.

so, wait, your saying that carbon fiber stick on shit is pointless??? well, tell me, what could you do in this situation: bought my car, someone cut part of the lip on the center console out to gheto fit a pos radio. now, i couldn't get a new one, toyota does not make that color anymore...tell me a better solution to get this also, paintint the center part was out of the question, it is part of the brown part and had too deep scraches in it for it to turn out smooth.
