I own a 2000 GTS: And want an exhaust system with deep sound. Over here, in New Zealand, we are allowed to remove the Cat converter, so everyone just gets a straight pipe to the muffler. (or has a resonator in the middle). What do you reccomend for me to do? There are heaps of cat-back systems that you guys in America buy, but since we can remove the Cat I dont know if I should just remove it and get just any muffler or get a catback system and remove the cat and weld some pipe where it was. I hope you can understand me, I am very confused and need to know what will be the best system for my car. Thanks .

Well, it's illegal here and is extremely loud, and it gives the most HP for the Celica, but it's called the Kazuma and it's made by TRD. Another exhaust, which is really good is the regular TRD exhaust. It's not very loud and is a little bit more audible than stock, but if you get on it, it can be loud. It also has the best HP gains out of all of the exhausts made for the Celica, except the Kazuma. A couple others that I like are the Tanabe Racing Medallion and Apex'i N1.

BTW, the Kazuma is about the only cat-back system made the Celica and is basically just a straight-pipe with a little resonator before the tip. It does replace the cat with just a pipe, so I guess you could say the cat is removed.

Oooh, sweet! But the New Zealand Government is really retarded about car enthusiasts right now, because stupid idiots doing illegal street racing. Because of the illegals, they have put a law up on exhaust noise, and the limit is 85 Db

Well, if the DB limit is only 85, then forget the Kazuma since that is likely to be 110+.

Yeah, it sucks, no one really abydes the law, but its harder to get a warrant. The dont even measure the sound properly, and dont care about meatheads with load as V8's. Im going to still get a loud one, screw them! The Apexi N1, does replace the cat with pipe too? I like the sound of it and it isnt too pricey.

No, i'm pretty sure the Apex'i N1 is an axle-back and does not replace the cat.
