Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance Alternator problems/replacement

Everytime i do anything in my car (Windows, AC, Radios, Turn Signals, ETC) my lights flash pretty wildly. I have already installed a grounding kit, and a optima yellow top battery. So i don't think it is the battery. does everyone agree that my alternator is either failing or can't handle the load of my system?

If so, what kind of alternator should i buy to replace it? i am also looking at putting in the complete under-drive pully kit including - and i have heard that some alternators don't work all that well with the underdrive kit on. any suggestions?

I'd do some research before I put in an underdrive pulley kit if I were you.

did this problem occur after you installed the grounding kit?

it was a long tim after i installed it actually. i have done reasearch. i am just waiting for someone here with experiance with ths to tell me what is better. i know some people have had trouble with the undrive pully kit, thats why want a alternator than can produce a high voltage/amp output at a lower RPM.

Yeh same here i have been wanting to buy a new alternator for my car and haven't been able to come up with anything yet.
