Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance camber? what did YOU do?

First what springs did you all use?
Did you leave you car looking like a Delorean?
Was it correct with just an allignment?
Did you purchase a kit?

What i am trying to avoid is the hotchkis links. they are way to expensive and so many people advise i get them, but according to searches, not very many people have them...hypocrits, j/k!!!!

anyway, anyone use the cheap 30 dollar bolts and save their tires? There has to be another way between the links, because there just isnt much out there. I do not have 250 bucks to buy links, i can afford 30 bucks for bolts if they will do the job.

30 bucks will fix the fronts only. 250 dollars is cheap compared to 150 dollar tires, every 6 months. Get the links, there isn't anything else you can use...sorry. Oh yeah, I have the Hotchkis links.

ummm... all 4 of my cambers were terrible on the trac, lol... cost $40 to fix them all now to get it lowered

the all-trac the 7th gen have 2 different suspensions, meaning there are different parts available for each. also, i think he already has his lowered

i have tanabe sustec pro ss coilovers and my car is lowered about 3.5 inches all around. while i installed my coilovers i installed the hotchkis rear camber kit. i love them and they are worth the money, but i dont know how "off" the rear camber would be with just the coilovers and not installing the camber kit

you can adjust your camber with the stock links...

might not be as much as you need to though.

i need to know the answer to his question too because i have the eibach camber links also.. but have never installed them

A long time ago I purchased the camber links/Hotchkis strut bar from Bottle some 4 or 5 years ago for a drop on some coilovers. Unfortunately, I don't have the pics of a 2" drop any more and how much the rear tires were off including the wear.

If I can remember, the left back tire was 3% or more of negative camber stock.
All was fixed and so was the front.
Like an idiot, I didn't get an alignment until I got not my second, but 3rd set of coilovers with a less of a drop (long story).

Everything came together with the camber links and camber plates with any alignment specs I wanted. There was a slight problem with the back and toe, but I think it was the place doing my alignment or my screwed up car.

I just always thought that if you lower it, you might as well get the most out of it.
That includes tires and alignment at least and more. That's another story.
Camber links, crash bolts 2 or 3, camber plates, Eibach bolts, H&R...

I don't know other than the camber links and no one wants to comment on the cheaper ways any more. They say get it, but can't give pics., a scan of the alignment before and after, or if it even will help and how long.
This goes for the crash bolts also. It seems it was erased into history on all accounts.

Figure the drop and go from the experience at these sites.
