alright guys. i drove the car home. it went great, the sound was awesome. But, when iwas up the block at my house, and slowing down to a stop sign comming up, i noticed that my check engine light, and battery light came on. Then i noticed that the car had turned off. I dont know if the car shut off, then the lights went on, or the other way around. But when i started the car, it started fine, and neither of the lights came on anymore. What could the deal be?

ya i took the negative thing off. Oh. and by the way. i had this one thing left over that i dont know if its supposed to connect to anything. there is one connector that didnt go anywhere (according to the install things ive read). However, there was also one little goldish colored thing that had a connector comming to it, i didnt hook that up to anything either. Also, durring my attempt to install the intake, i noticed that my car is missing the pipe that comes out from the ecu (I think thats what its called). Heres a pic of it. the pipe that i am talking about is circled in white. What is the pipe for, do i need it, where can i get it from, and what will happen if i dont put it on? And the thing that got left out that i was talking about, i will take a picture tomorrow and show you guys.

i think the name of the tube is the ecu cooling tube. I don't think you really need it but it should have been there before you took the stock intake off.

you don't need that piece your holding, the pipe coming from the ecu is just a pipe that runs from the radiator fan to cool off the ecu, but i would recommend just going to the toyota dealership for a new one, the one plug you have hanging does not get used, the other two and also the two hoses that come from it stay connected in the same place, that little hosing you had running from the lower part of the engine to the stock intake is not used anymore, it is just closed up with a simple cap, or cut part of the tubing, stick a large screw into it with silicon on the screw, and make sure all your hoses are tightly connected, that could be a reason for the car moving itself.

umm. since there arent any pictures illustrating it, i dont really know where the stock hoses go. I guess ill just have to go along with it until the next meet comming up this month, and ask someone to help me out with it.

hmm missing the ecu tube 'eh? did you get your car used? maybe the guy before you installed a CAI, sometimes the ecu tube gets in the way and then reinstalled the air box before he traded it in.

guess they left that out then, there is a diagram on the installs section that shows where the tubing goes, that should be your biggest help, other than that, if you still need a walkthrough or someone to talk to about it, my aol name is spiauto, i'll be on from time to time.
