I currently have a GT 5 spd, and I owned a GTS for about a week and loved it (long story, most of you probably know the story already). I couldn't really afford the GTS because I had no down payment and I was upside down on the trade in.
However, it's different if I sell my GT first. If I sell my GT first then I can afford the GTS.
Here are my two options, what would you choose?
1) Try to sell GT and then buy a GTS or
2) Keep the GT and just mod the appearance of the car (I'm done with performance; there is not much more to do to a GT).
What would you do?

turbo is the best thing there is for a GT. for me, i'd keep the GT and mod the appearance and the engine.

I have a GT auto. for my performance mods, im considering getting a euro GT 6-speed tranny. im doing some research on it right now. after that i plan on getting a turbo and upgrading the internals. my appearance mods are gonna be finished once i have my car repainted and get some rims and a drop

what does your car have on it now? i'd say go turbo with that and keep modding the motor. Either that or just do major cosmetics.
But if you are looking for something with a little more power and you're comfortable letting go of your gt, get the gts.

If the GTS is a 6spd, get that. If you don't want the hassle of f/i, then you'll be better off.

Well since you say your more into the appearance mods I say keep the GT. You can use the money you save from not going to the GTS to buy a whole lot of appearance mods. Plus the GT is the same as the GTS below 6K rpm. But if you race, get the GTS.

I really love to drive in the twisties though, so what suspension mods would improve that? All I have right now for suspension is the tein s.techs

save the GT if you don't do racing, just mod the exterior, I heard TRD makes some great lowering springs.

TRD springs are rebadged Eibach, and I think their shocks/struts are Bilstein.
Tein is really good, so card00d85 you are just running on Tein S springs right? Perhaps look into Tein Basic Dampering kit or Tein Super Street Damper if you have some extra cash. Otherwise Hotchkis is one of the best, maybe the best suspension product for the Celica.
Sway bars will also dramatically improve your cars handling, it will make it stiff mind you but that's the idea and there are also strut tower bars which I believe go underneath the vehicle. The only "downside" to sway and strut bars is it can make the car respond so quickly that if you find yourself in a soon to be accident position that you may jerk the wheel too quickly and end up oversteering and loose control or just end up steering into something. But I am sure that wouldn't be too big of a threat once you get use to your set-up.

Work on the exterior. I used to drive an Auto GT and now I drive a 6 Speed GTS. The diff. are those few seconds in lift. Would rather work on the exterior and be like "wow" my car is looking good.
