Not an audio thread, read on for more.
So I recently go to an audio shop in Greenwood to see what my single 12" will hit at (137.7 on the dash with the cargo cover on, fairly good for one 12). Anyway, turns out the guy that owns the store is some kind of national champion in audio contests. His van hits at 176.x dbs which is enough to stop someone's heart if they were to sit in it while this thing was pounding. Anyway, we were talking about some of the setups that I could have in my trunk and about how we could make them. I mentioned that I'd like something in carbon fiber, but I just don't know how to work with the stuff. Apparently he's some kind of box master, and does work with anything and everything. So he says that he'd like to try working with the carbon fiber and that he hasn't had a project yet he couldn't do. He also said that if he couldn't work with it, he always knew someone that could, so he could just call them up to find out how to do it. I'm sourcing some carbon fiber and resin at the moment, along with a junked car's a-pillar to see how it'll turn out. If everything turns out ok, he said he'd be more than willing to make some stuff for us at low prices since I'm helping him out with his car. I'm pretty excited about this and just thought I'd share with you guys.
