stun you should post it in the install section for everybody. Im too lazy to post it up Plus, this was initially posted by Adam Hockemeyer (GTSbyTRD) a looong time ago. I just decided to keep it because I knew it would come in handy. ***Not trying to discourage you but please note that the guide is just for reference. If you do decided to use the install guide and perform they installation yourself, I nor Adam are responsible for any damages incurred either directly or indirectly to your Celica.*** I wish I could perform all the installations myself because its fairly easy but since I cant. I suggest you guys do all the research and ask as many questions as you can before you take this task at hand. If you dont feel confident in your wiring skills then DONT DO IT and take it to a professional.

what is the downside of having the negative NOT disconnected when installing an aftermarket HU?

I just installed my HU this past weekend using the factory amp and I didn't disconnect the battery.
Install wasn't that difficult, only thing I had trouble with is soldering resistors into the harness.

only downside is you could blow a few or short circuit something..even if using the harness..just be safe and remove ur neg. battery..take like 3sec to do it..better safe then sorry..

TRUST me. I've ganked out that HU several times...and one time i forgot..ZAP lol. BTW are you guys just wiring in an aftermarket head unit using your factory GTS amplifier? Or are you bypassing the factory amp? I did mine using the factory amp because i don't have serious audio performance plans.

i used an amp interface that you wire your headunit's wiring harness into...and then you wire the stock harness into the other side of the interface...and voila! you have a 4-channel output split up into 8 so that your components run at the same frequency cut-offs that they are meant to have from the factory

yea the amp is usually under the glove box if you take out the two white clips in the back you'll b able to c it no problem...but i think its only the 8 speaker setups that will have them.

I'm in the middle on an Install right now actually and if someone who has this guide in their e-mail can PM me, I'll send you my e-mail address and you can forward it over. I'm installing an Omnifi DMP1 with my Stock Stero and I need to figure out the best way (and where) to wire the power in. It needs: Chassis Ground Ignition Sitched +12V DC Dimmer Battery +12V DC If someone can give me some advice I'd appreicate it.
