Hey guys,
I'm just wondering if you guys with the mtec lowbeams have the 55W->100W, or the 100W->150W kind. Is there that much of a difference in brightness and color? Thanks.

ive seen 55W->100W mtec lowbeams on a celica...they look really nice (i've only seen them from outside the car).Really white with a blue tint...whiter than my xenons.
The 100-150w sounds like they would get pretty damn hot. Someone else will have to fill you in on those.

I wouldn't doubt tht 100-150w bulbs pop a lot easier just because of how hot they're getting. If I were you, I'd stick to something below 95w

Ill replace the R2 with stock later during this week - and at that time, I will replace the burn PIAA fog with the new MTEC set. Im thinking also to go back to full stock (not just front, but sides and rear as well)... had the rear bumper off this weekend and it was really easy to remove

why why why? why go back to stock? too hard to drive with a R2 kitty? nope - its not too hard to drive with... but when I go back to stock, I wont have to worry about coming off a depp curb and cracking the R2 front... I wont have to worry about road debris smashing into the front of the kit, completely ruining it... i wont have to worry about getting pulled over for no front license plate also with the rear removed, I wont have to worry about the blitz bumper flapping when I got over 65 mph (2 years ago someone mentioned this to me... 2 years ago was when i stopped driving at an agerage speed of 70 and 80mph... 2 years ago was when I got my last speeding ticket The rear bumper causes ALOT of drag with the sideskirts installed - it makes it dificult for my mechanic to raise the car on their lifts... they usualy have to place several boards unted the lift locations and then raise everything carefully... without the skirts, just drive on and go up

Just got mine last night & installed them. They are blueish(away from the car) white(as you get closer to the car) & the beam patterns are nice & even. They are relatively bright & don't throw light everywhere like some of the Autozone lights that people are getting. I had a set of 100w bulbs, no names, after my first set of PIAA blew. They lasted almost 2 years without problems. Didn't want to push my luck again. I have the 55w MTECS. I can see on dark roads but it's like my headlights are off when I drive around in the city at night. The amber streetlamps just wipe most of the light away. Have to see how long they last now.??? 100w are brighter but not much, I got flashed a lot because the beam was everywhere & had hot spots that would blind oncoming drivers. Stick to stock wattage IMO.
