does it take a while for a TRD exhause to "break in"? mine is still pretty quiet and from what i've been reading it's supposed to get louder after a while. just wondering. plus i have a aem cai so that pretty much drowns it out.

it usually takes an exhaust about a week or so to break in. also...reset your ECU (unplug the negative battery terminal for a couple of minutes)

^^ the link is: https://celicahobby.com/ubbthreads/thread.f_1870213935_0_collapsed_2__1.htmlif you do it this way, you won't have to reset your clock or radio presets, which is pretty cool. i still think its faster to just unplug the negative battery terminal. either way is adequate

why does reseting the ecu help? i have the trd exhaust and i have had it on for a couple of weeks and ya its kinda loud bettween 3k and 5k but otherwise i like the low rumble (this from the drivers seat) when the engine is hot its louder kinda, and smoother... is it suppose to get much louder? i dont mind it, but i like the sound now, though the tip is huge, id much rather have a tpr just cause its smaller tip...

resetting the ecu just resets the sensors...so it will sense the higher flowing exhaust QUICKER. you can always just drive around with it for awhile and the sensors will compensate for it eventually, resetting the ecu just speeds the process up a little

yeah i reset the ecu when i first installed it i did it like the installs section method. i really like that it didn't reset my radio stations and stuff, but yeah maybe i'm just used to hearing all these other cars with really loud exhausts i'm just glad mine isn't annoying like those

it will get a little louder over time. theres packing in the muffler that will eventually burn up and blow out. take her up in the hundreds a bunch...help speed the process up a lil
