I had to take my celica in for more warranty work on the tranny today (those of you who have been here a long time remember that I had problems with the bearings a while back. Anyway, they gave me a rental under warranty and guess what it is...a damn white scion XB...GAWD...it is sooooooo slow...I thought I had the ebrake on or something while I was driving it because it has NO Juice at all!!!!! And the inside is just as hideously boxy as the outside...and guess what happened when I tried to tell my fiance about it...she cracks on me about having to "Drive the Short Bus" rofl rofl...so I'm stuck with this thing for the next however long, but at least they are fixing my stuff under warranty

That sucks! I hate those ugly boxes! I see old grandmas driving them all the time by me...

My car is gunna be 10x faster than yours...haha... I'm gunna buy like 10
of those speedchips! I figure if 1 gets me 20hp then 10 will get me 200hp!

you know what I hate to say this but I kinda like the Xb their boxy and weird, modern and cool. I test drove one (I didn't buy one) but It wasn't that bad for what it was. a small boxy weird "mini suv" lots of room inside and you sat high so headlights weren't in your mirrors. there was no pep to it at all, but it's like a city car with lots of space. at the same time I never see anyone driving them other than promotional cars for radio stations and such so...

yes I am under Warranty, but they don't know that I have raised the compression and re-built the block. unless they go in and look at the pistons and rods the only thing they can tell that I've done to the engine is an AEM CAI and a Magnaflow Exhaust...what they don't know doesn't hurt me grin

I'd like to drive one of those or an xA with a manual and beat the hell out of it, and then take it out on the streets and try to race people.

an XB? actually that is a nice rental. i've had quite a few accidents and having my car in the shop for work so i've had a good history with rentals. usually i get shafted with neons, elantras, sonatas, and cavaliers. try some of them out for size!

thumbsup

Yeah, I wouldn't complain. At least they gave you SOMETHING to drive. Hope the repair on the Celica go well!

Imagine how much funnier this story would be, if half the people on here who've never heard that term actually knew what it meant! smile

its over a week later and I've still got the short bus. only now the "maintenance required light" flashes at me when I start the car...hehehehehehehehehehehehehe...I swear this thing has exactly no balls at all...2 squirrels and a rubber band would produce more power than the engine in this thing. On the tranny though...I've got 54,000 miles and it is the second time I've had hiccups with it...one more time and they owe me a car. They replaced the entire 5th gear assembly...and still problems...so now my buddy up there in the service department is pushing the service manager into signing off on a completely new transmission for me... grin
