most of the time i see 215/45/17s or 225/45/17s (usually people buy an aftermarket 17" rim that is wider than the stock width).
theres nothing wrong with 205/45/17 though, a little extra grip with 215 wouldn't hurt though.

So 225/45/17s will work on Celicas without any problem? I have 2 brand new ones sitting in my garage that were intended for my Eclipse, but went another route. I was wondering if they would be ok on my Celica (after I get some 17" rims ofcourse).

^^ usually. most aftermarket wheels are at least .5 inch wider than the stock wheels, in which case 225 would be fine.

i got 215/40/17's on my rims. the rims are 17"7". the tires are nitto neo gens. i have a 2 inch drop, but after putting the tires and rims on, i expected it to be harsher. however, i got the complete opposite. The ride is more comfortable with the rims and new tires on. So i would say go with this size.

205 is a little less than what I would go with. 215 and 225 is what I would shoot for (40/45 whichever you prefer).
