Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior my lambo doors getting ready to snap -PICTURES-

ok . here is another problem with my lambo doors . when the doors go up and down the door hinges scrapes against the little part on the side keeping the hinges apart from the metal of the door.the problem is that its digging really deep into the steel hinge. its already just about half way from cutting through the steel hinges. the pics show how it cutting hrough my hinges . for anyone who has these lambo doors get a flashlight and check your hinges as well.its all the way to the top where the bolt is . actually right under the top bolt. i think its on all of our hinges. if you can see these cuts in person they look a lot deeper than the pics.these pics only gives you an idea of what i mean.i wonder if theres a way to fill that up before it completely breaks off. check yours for anyone who has lambo doors and please let me know if you have the same problem. there are serveral pics: please wait for them to load.=========

Damn that sucks

Mine do the same thing..but only because it scratched through the paint. I'll look at it on Sunday Comic. If it's that bad, we'll just take the stopper off

From what I can tell from the pix...mine are exactly the same way, it tears the paint off the hinge, that's about it. either way, lithium grease will take care it, if your that worried about it

Why can't people understand that the Celica was not made for lambo doors. If you want a car that has lambo doors, get a lambo

They also weren't made for F/I, genious...people are still doing that. It's about separating your car from the other 50,000 out on the road. I've never lost a show (yet), why? because of my doors. A $1,500 investment has made me over $4,000 in show winning, plus the other 6-7K in sponsorship stuff I've gotten

and no it was not designed for them...but that's why aftermarket companies go into deep research about it to make something that WORKS.

i noticed that problem during installtion. so i shaved that metal part by sanding machine not to scrape hardly..

thats clever ...my dumb shop will never even think of doing that. they only want my money. thats the only important thing for them.

Apparently they didn't do enough research. If they did there wouldn't be a problem right?
