Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting a new exhaust...about how much would a decent exhaust system cost? I haven't started looking yet, so I figured I'd ask around here first.

Oh cool, not bad, know of any decent ones you could suggest to me? I want one with a nice "roar" LOL. I really don't know if I could do it myself...

TPR...its $450 plus shipping. has the highest gain, has a sweet sound just like the 350z and G35, looks stock/like the TRD exhaust so cops wont hassle you much for it.

I had TRD but thats more of a quiet exhaust. It's quiet at idle and for daily driving but once you get on it it livens up, perfect tone I thought. I got it for 580 @ trdparts4u.com. Trust me you can do it yourself, all you need to do is take off a couple of bolts, there's an installation guide on here somewhere!

Ohhh ok cool, doesn't sound too hard smile I'll probably go with the TPR you mentioned, Zero smile Unless there's an even better one out there with a better sound...I had an Audi TT in England...I kinda liked the sound it made.

well if I run into problems, couldn't I get a silencer?

What do you suggest for a nice exhaust that WOULDNT grab cops attention but still sound good?

This is what I found on Kazuma, is this one a good one? http://shop.store.yahoo.com/titanmotorsports/kazexbytrd.html

you cant go wrong with custom, so long as you dont pick a fartcan muffler/exhaust tip...you just custom fit the piping at a local shop, they should do the piping for about 80-100$, weld it on...

custom is the way to go, besides going TRD or TPR.

here's my list of what to do:
1. find a nice muffler - IMO, get a Carbon Fiber wrapped muffler preferrebly RACtive or Stinger.
2. find a shop to do the work. get a few qoutes on who can do it cheaper.
3. ask if they do mandrel bends for a clean setup/freer flow.
4. straight-pipe that bitch. choose whether you want it from the axle-back or from the cat-back.

this will save you around $250 compared with buying the TRD, TPR, KAZUMA, TSRM...etc... thumbsup

stay away from Carbon Fiber wrapped. God those are just screaming ricer. TSRM has a deep sound without hurting performance a lot.

Damn Kristin! You're going all out on your car. Rims/Drop, exhaust. Why don't you throw a little money my way. thumbsup

What about dual exhaust. Or is that too much of a pain?

We've already gone over about how you lose too much backpressure with this. Of course, if you're looking for looks only, I guess it works. Personally, I wouldn't go for dualies.

Yeah i like the look but figured that you would lose some. also you'd have to get a rear bumper with a cut out for the second pipe or cut one your self (which would be a pain). Thanks for the info though. thumbsup

HAHA, yeah I should ride around with people that get rear ended more often LOL. Anyone wanna hit me from behind? LOL. happywink

I never even thought about doing dual exhaust...not sure why I would want to either. Sounds like a pain. And my head already hurts tonight! I'll see what I have left over after pampering my baby, then maybe I'll be your "suga momma" rofl

Yeah I'll probably do this one. So - off the ones on this site - what would I want to get http://www.importstreetscenes.com/engine/exhaust/mufflers/tanabe/ and also, anyone know of a better online dealer or should I go to a local shop?

So TSRM, TRD, or Kazuma. I've been told a really loud exhaust prolly won't get me in trouble here. So I'm pretty sure I want to go with Kazuma smile

GOOD LUCK WITH THAT HOPE YOU ENJOY IT. IM LOOKING FOR A DUAL TIPPED EXHAUST CUZ I JUST GOT THE KAMINARI KIT INSTALLED AND IT HAS TWO CUT OUTS FOR THE DUAL PIPING. MY CAR IS MOSTLY SHOW AND NO GO SO BACK PRESSURE DOSENT MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE UNLESS IT THROWS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IN MY FACE. ANY IDEA'S?
