well I went to autozone and borrowed the device to pull the code for the CEL light that I got and this is what it said:

P0420 Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

1. catalytic converter defective
2. engine misfire or running condition
3. large vacuum leak
4. engine oil leakage into exhaust valve guide seals piston rings
5. refer to AZ commercial preferred customer

What'd you guys think the problem might be? The guy at Autozone said the O2 sensor might have been knocked out or something. Thanks

I got the same last october...
but my light comes and goes by itself... sometimes within a few miles, others, withing hundreds. I'll take my car for diagnosis (besides: brake recall, oil change- they're so nice a my toyota dealer- and other minor maintenance... ) and see what happend... I think the problem is the O sensor...

It is one of the following--
1). Bad cat
2). Bad O2 sensor
3). bad pcv valve
4). dirty cone filter (do you have Injen SRI ?) Recharge your filter
5). A large vacuum leak somewhere.

The cat is warrantied to 80K
