What would happen if the strut bar touches both positive and negative terminals on the battery? Is something going to catch on fire? By the way, if you guys wants smaller and lighter car battery, try the optima yellow 51R. I bought one from pepboys since they had it for descent price.

Shorting out your battery would be a bad thing.
If you want a light battery, go for Odyssey. Mine weighs 15 lb. (stock was 33). I've had no starting problems at all, even in mid winter here. See photo in my profile. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a power draining stereo though.

Ummmm... Your battery will fucking explode! Not to mention it will also melt your strut bar as it arc welds itself to your battery. If you dont insulate the terminals properly from the strut bar be prepared for battery acid all over your engine compartment and a possible fire.

You can also get a piece of rubber hose and slice it length wise and wrap your bar.

^^ Its not that easy dude. The cables aren't long enough for that.

When the poles are shorted, the load becomes the battery itself, to make it short ( ha ha no pun intended) the battery will generate so much hydrogen, that either the heat from the battery or the spark from the short will ignite the hydrogen. This makes the battery explode.

If the short is removed in time, the hydrogen will dissipate, but the plates in the acid bath, will have the coating flake off. when the debris reaches the bottom of the plates, the plates short out one cell at a time. it may take a week or two but the battery should be on death watch.

If you bairly arced it so it poped and scaired the crap out of ya, rofl and it was a momentary short, I wouldn't worry.
