Celica Forums General Discussion Interior Made an armrest-what do you think?

Took of piece of 3/4" plywood cut to 5.5" x 11 3/4" and cut some foam rubber to fit on top of the wood. Then I covered the wood and the foam rubber with some black vinyl I bought ($8.99 a yard at Ace Hardware). To the bottom of the vinyl-covered wood armrest, I glued (with black silicone) some of this black "anti-slip" rubber "cloth" like stuff that comes in short rolls---the kind people put under throw rugs to add grip. Then I cut many (20+) small sheets of this rubber and made a "base" for the armrest. The stack of rubber sheets sit on top of the stock armrest/console, and the black rubber makes it very "sticky" even though there is nothing sticky about it---no glue or Velcro or any adhesive--just the rubber. The rubber grips nicely to the stock armrest, and the rubber sticks to my wood/vinyl armrest too. It is a bit more than 2" high and fits under my elbow just perfectly.

is it removable?

Totally removable---there is no adhesive to the stock console. Just the rubber which makes it grippy. It just sits on top of the stock console.

Mia culpa. I lied. I am a fucking liar, and I am actually very sorry if you can believe me. I did use Photoshop to touch up the image, but only to convey what it really looks like. The flash made the sticky rubber stand out too much, and so I did some touching up.
