Well, here it is. IMO, the change is not justifiable. Minor cosmetic touches and slight engine tweak. However, it is supposed to be more durable.

Yep, it's an amazing machine with few performance equals.

But I'm sorry to say that the over all style and looks of the thing do nothing for me. Same goes for the STi.

I'd love to see Toyota put that kind of power and performance into something that looks similar to the Celica or Supra.

Buuuuuut Noooooooooo!!! All we get from them now is fricken shoe boxes on wheels with 100hp lawn mower engines and a ton of chicken shit bling bling do dads and foo foo crap.

It would be nice if somebody would clue Toyotas product development division in to the fact that there is medical help available for abnormally low testosterone levels.

well, Toyota tried their hand at the WRC w/ an AWD turbo Celica... but even w/ a power output of over 200hp+200ft-lb torque, the AWD turbo Celicas were not very popular and never won any WRC stages. However, the first and only 3 years Toyota ran the WRC Corolla, they won 3 stages. Though Toyota retired from competition, the WRC Corolla is still used by private teams on a budget.

as for the supra, it and the skyline rule JGTC, crushing NSXs

wtf What the hell are you talking about? Toyota won several WRC championships in a modified GT-4 Celica driven by Carlos Saintz. That GT4 was always a contender throughout its WRC history winning 38 WRC Rallies and 2 WRC Championships. rice

Also,Im pretty sure Rod Millen's record for Pikes Peak has not been broken to this day. spineyes

i *heard* that the next gen coming out, one of the main changes was the bumper to allow them into canada. The evo's currently aren't legal in Canada due to the bumper (it doesn't pass some law on impact rating, the canadian standard is higher than the US).

It may be all rumours or even wishful thinking to canadians however Mitsu has to do something quick as they're failing horribly in the canadian market

I like the 8 better. The 7 is really nice, too. The 5 was my favorite until the 8's came out.

the entire front bumper looks much different..
evo 8 was all curvy and as they put it "pontiac looking"
i hated how the bumper was into the grill with the mitsu emblem on it and it was just fugly.
as you compare the 9 with 7's you can see how it looks very similar with the added intake holes.

I stopped caring about the evo after the evo 6. They totally ruined the looks of the car from the evo 7 and upwards. A tuned evo 5 or 6 would rock. From 7 and up they look like booring ass family cars. Kinda like toyota could have made them. I'd much rather have a wrx sti.

^I've been in contact with Toyota for a little while...I sent them my high school transcripts and told them I was accepted into the Virginia Tech Engineering honors program and that I had a celica and love toyota blablahlah and that I am interested in engineering and design for Toyota and they said I sound like a great candidate...I'm working on getting a co-op at toyota's techincal center...and if all goes well...in 5 years you'll see some cool changes wave

^^Unlikely. Things change in Japan. Not the US. US based toyota is more so based on business, rather than design. Put it this way, Kleeman didn't show any interest in me as a lowly intern.

Right on sbocaj55! Fight the Power!

I wish you luck. They need new blood that understands what Celica\Supra owners really want, and what will lure us back to the name plate and brand name.

Instead of what ever focus groups they use, I'd like to see the car Toyota would design after lurking this board for six to twelve months.
