Whats the best/most efficient type of battery to add to help power a full audio setup? Ive heard it's some sort of marine battery, whenever I have the headlights on and everything at night, the subs/amp drain too much current and everything dims. I need a fix for this problem so Im wanting to add another battery. Anyone know?

Before you upgrade your battery, I'd try upgrading the Big 3. That's your negative ground from battery to car. The positive cable from battery to alt. And the chassis to engine ground. Upgrade these with 0-4 gauge and see if that doesn't help first.

Maybe I should have clarified that I'm looking to install a 2nd battery, not just swap out the one in the engine bay.

Capacitors are like putting a bandaid on a gunshot. If you're getting massive drains they won't do anything for you, it's not like they create energy.

Go with the Red Cap unless you are powering a major system, then go with a yellow. And with these batteries you don't need a cap, because the recharge on the this battery is extremely quick. If you are serious about radio comp, stay with Optima.

dos any have a pic of the optima blue top installed? For boats only! For ultimate power, get a Optima Red Top for your cars engine. Wire an Optima Yellow Top in the back underneath the car to power your amps, subs, speakers, and neons/power draining stuff. Ground both batteries with groundwire kits and get a Sun voltage stabilizer for the yellow top. Yellow tops are deep cycle, so leave your engine off with your system up. Should your yellow top die, you still have the red to drive home. Expensive, very. The best is gonna cost the most, usually.

Bat aps from my understanding just store power incase you kill the battery. Although I could be wrong.
